I love the size and weight and the case I purchased for it fits nicely into my bag. I wish it would scan the docs to the same pdf rather than requiring me to combine them once they are all scanned but it's not a big deal considering how easy everything else has been with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DD-640 is worth the money The scanner works really good, not sure of can actually scan at 16 pages per minute. This is due to the iprint and scan software that asks multiple questions to scan additional pages. The DS-620. Had great software. All in sll is is nice portable scanner.

Keeps adding tons of white spae to photos, big time issues even trying to get the feeder to work so i can scan, software written in the 70's alll around bottom of the barrel product just like everything Brother makes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a joke! Recently purchased to convert all of my school files to digital copies. It jams easily, and suddenly today I received a message that says "memory full" when trying to scan in color. Yet, when I try to find how to clear the "memory" which I didn't know it supposedly had, there are no directions anywhere. The support site gives information for unrelated products. On top of that, the main driver won't load onto 2 different devices, so I have to pretend to let it be downloading just so I can use it at all. As the headline says...WHAT A JOKE!

The thought of having to figure out how to set up a scanner and remembering how to use it was overwhelming. Your product is so user friendly, this scanner has become my new friend. It may sound lame, but I feel so smart and confident when I go through the steps to scan something. DONE! I'm sure there are many other people out there who feel the same as I do. My advise is just read the instructions they are really easy! Thank-You!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gift for any age I had received this document and photo scanner for a gift and was very well pleased with the performance of this little scanner. I have limited space, so having a bulky scanner was just not an option for me. The size is quite easy to store in small places. The hardware was fairly easy to access online and set up. I have uploaded several family photos and will eventually upload to the cloud so my whole family can share all our old family photos. If your into ancestry, this will be a useful tool as well to upload those documents and old photos to your accounts to share your historical documents with relations from around the world. I have lots of plans for this great scanner. Archiving my artwork, scanning family cookbook recipes....the ideas and projects are endless. I can't wait! I still have to learn to tweak a few things to my liking and wish that after I scanned photos they would display the icon of the image itself so I can more easily separate the documents, but it may be something I can figure out how to remedy with a little research online. Overall, great product!

I usually use my phone or work fax/printer for scanning purposes. Overall, I liked this product. Pros:Compact- It was small, relatively speaking. It`s about the size of a compact umbrella so it could fit in a tote bag. Mobile- You can travel with it in a tote or laptop bag. Only a usb cord is needed. Weighs a pound or two.Quality- The images uploaded were good quality/resolution.Operation- Very simple to use. Didn`t require much directions.Durability- It is sturdy and solid. I would take alot of force to break it.Cons:Connectivity- There was no wifi or bluetooth connection. It would be great to have this option and make the scanning completely mobile. I would love to scan and upload wireless as an option.Installation- I had some difficulty with installing the software initially. I believe the software needed to simplified to only one step. A simple install once screen. The application prompted to install other programs once I got to the home screen of the brother application. The space it took up on computer was a bit much. I would deter people from installing it on multiple devices which defeats the purpose of being mobile.Memory- It lacked a slot for a micro sd card or any memory to be stored.Operation- It didn`t have a pop out tab to guide papers through.

Simple and easy setup with simple software integration. No issues with Windows based computer. I have used this scanner for a short term and am very impressed. It did not take long to get it set up and working and the instructions are good and easy to use. It is small and compact to fit on my desk and easy to use. I have not had any issues with scanning and feel that it has good quality scans. Speed of scanning is fairly quick.

I wished I had gotten the mobile friendly version because I would have loved to try it out on my phone. I like the design. It is simple, compact, and travels well. Connecting the scanner to the laptop is a breeze. The user interface is easy to work with. I like that it has 4 save/share features (save to PC, scan to cloud service, open in application, and attach to email. The scans were super crisp as well. I am not a very computer savvy person and this product was easy to set up and use. I like the product very much and look forward to using it

It is super compact and lightweight so I can literally throw it inside my bag and go! It is extremely easy to use once you get it downloaded properly. I have to be honest in saying that im I thought I would be able to use it from my mobile device but I realized that there is a different mobile that you have to have to use the app. But all in all is very convenient loose to using a large scanner and having to make sure it is slight to scan properly. I love how this product can easily adjust to the document size whether it`s a card or a full sheet of paper and it aligns perfect so no need to rescan! I find this item very helpful for scanning invoice for my business so I can stay more organized and the best thing is I can take it everywhere with me!!!

This scanner is super easy to set up and also easy to use. I have used it to scan some recent papers - and it worked great for those. I also used it to scan a bunch of old photos and documents. Good scanner- it scans pretty fast and both, in color and black/white. Its compact and lightweight and since its USB Powered, it doesn`t require wall outlets, which helped make my workplace tidier and clutter free. I`ve scanned receipts, business cards, identification cards, invoices, photographs, and more in the last few weeks and they`ve all come out great. Also the multi page scanning is fairly easy and the Brightness and Contrast can be adjusted to optimize the scans. So far, product has served its purpose very well and I am very satisfied with the scanner.

As soon as the scan is done it appears on the screen and then a choice is given on how to send, other scanners requires many steps to LOOK for the Scan throughout the Laptop/Computer not user friendly as this one.The Quality Expectations of the Scan were Exceeded!The suggested improvements: More user friendly specific instructions of how/where to install device. The first thing I noticed about the scanner was how small it was! It can easily fit in a backpack. While it was a bit of a struggle to install the drivers (through my own fault, not Brothers), once everything was up and running, I was pleasantly surprised by the print speed and quality, especially considering its size. My scanned pages came out clean and sharp, even though the paper I scanned initially was worn and wrinkled. I couldn`t be happier.

I found the scanner provided to me free of charge as a reviewer. I found the scanner quite reliable and helpful for my small business needs for scanning. I was quite impressed with the portability factor of this item and the many quality functions as it has in solving my problems when it comes to daily scanning needs, whether they be high volume on low. I highly recommend this product and I found it greatly efficient to be able to pool my data and needs into one small portability scanner such as this one. I think this will be great addition to my os all business and we will be using it quite often.

I scanned a bunch of things with this scanner. It has a little slot that moves to help guide the thing that you are scanning. It works great on papers or pictures that are thicker than usual. I tried to scan receipts and it had a hard time cause the receipts are very thin. One thing it does well is auto crop the thing you scanned. Overall it`s pretty good, super easy to set up took me like 10 mins. If you`re on the go or space is limited this thing is looking to get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scanning On The Go! For me, the huge benefit to this little scanner is that I can use it in my car. I work with a cat rescue group, mostly transporting cats and kittens to and from a clinic, where they are tested, vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Keeping track of their treatment is important, as many go on to cat adoption organizations who require a record of their treatment. We receive a paper copy from the clinic, and for added security, I scan this into my computer as well. Since the paperwork stays with the cat, being able to scan the paperwork on our way to drop them off saves time. I take my Apple MacBook and this scanner with me and I can set the scanner up on the dashboard, connect the cable and I’m in business. I did try a cheaper hand scanner, but the image wasn’t satisfactory. It was hard to scan the document smoothly and what I ended up with was smaller than I wanted. This scanner is not much bigger and it draws in the document to scan it, so the quality of the scan is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NOT THE SAME AS THE DS620!!!!! Horrible I used the DS-620 for years and loved it. THEN they decided not to support it for Windows 11 so I bought the DS640. Horrible. I spent 3 weeks straight with tech support. I shouldn't have to edit EVERY PICTURE. I didn't have to do that with the 620. Don't buy it!!!!!! I bought a Plustek z300 and it works beautifully like the DS-620.
