I have no choice if I want to use my printer.
This is my second brother printer. I have to agree with the others. I didn't print half the number of copies that was stated. I get it that it depends on the ink coverage. I printed mostly recipes and important emails.

print good cartridges suck
Printer prints really great 730 cartridges are terrible first one printed approximately 300 pages number 2 cartridge would not print anything. Brother status monitor showed empty. Cartridge 3 printed about 400 pages and was out.

Not a good cartridge
I only got about 350 copies out of the cartridge and it is supposed to be 1200. It did not live up to what it was supposed to do.

Terrible instructions. Doesn't fit in MFC 7440n
Why don't you make videos of installation since your instructions have no text and the images are impossible to figure out. Also Amazon and your site say that the TN 730 toner fits the MFC 7440n, but it absolutely does not.

Cartridge fine. Printer not so much.
The ink cartridge was fine and easy to install. No problems with ordering and receiving. My complaint is that my printer made me change the cartridge when the old one was still printing fine.

Nice cartridge but….
The toner cartridge was easy to load & it worked great, right away. I wish the cost were less expensive. I went to toner instead of ink because I thought it would be. I’d like a recycling label to come in the new toner box. My old toner cartridge is waiting to be recycled because I’m having trouble accessing the paperwork.

Toner not lasting
We have really enjoyed our Brother printer, but have been getting Toner Low warnings for a couple of weeks, and we've only printed 481 pages with this starter toner. Shouldn't it have lasted a lot longer than that?

Good reliable printer
I like this printer very much. It prints quickly, and effortlessly. By that I mean, I haven't encountered any software or hardware issues that need to be troubleshot (troubleshooted??. I opted to buy a replacement toner directly from the brother site because some Amazon reviews made me worried that counterfeit products were being sold as brand name products.

Toner empty after just 532 pages
I purchased a multifunction printer and was surprised to see that after just 532 pages of printing, I was completely out of toner. The TN-730 advertises 1,200 pages per ISO Standards. However, ISO Standards are based on filling up only 5% of the page, which is the equivalent of a short email. So if you are printing anything that covers more than 5% of the page, you will likely get only 40% of the advertised page yield. Also, after a few changes of toner, some printers will require the additional purchase of a drum unit. These facts need to be disclosed to consumers so that they get fair value for money when purchasing your products. It is not fair to consumers to set expectations that will not be met. Treat your customers with respect and give them a decent value for the money they spend purchasing your products.

Brother, you make an excellent product, so you should just be honest and stand by it. I don't understand why you feel the need to mislead your customers with a toner yield estimate that is nowhere near what anybody gets in real life. Feel free to paste your boilerplate response below.

I purchased the printer from MicroCenter 2 months ago. I rarely use the printer in fact I have printed far less than 200 pages and I have the low ink warning.

I purchased several 730 cartridges and found that I don't get the amount of print pages as advertized for 1200 pages. I am short of 900 when I get a message that my toner is low. Therefore I am unable to continue to use printer until I purchanse another one.

Not Happy! TN730 Toner Low Pages
In October 2021, I purchased MFC-L271DW as a replacement for a Brother MFC that I had had for several years. The new Brother MFC came with TN730 toner (up to 1,200 pages.) After 675 pages, we get low toner warning. Very disappointing.

Between the new starter cartridge plus a full TN730 cartridge, I got through only 600 pages. ISO-Testing? Who cares. Sounds like nobody is getting the "advertised" yield. I'll be buying the cheaper knock-off cartridges from Amazon since the Brother price per page is so high due to low-yield.

I bought the laser printer because I'd had bad experience with ink jets. The printer itself was relatively inexpensive. It has worked well, produces nice printouts, had a nice scanning feature, works well as a wireless machine, and is reliable. My disappointment came with the low number of overall printouts before the toner ran out. These cartridges do NOT seem to last as long as the manufacturer claims (I have seen numerous reviews that confirm this). The lower cost of the printer is made up for in the cost of the printer cartridges. I can't fault the company for recouping the loss in the reduced price of the printer, but would prefer they were more forthcoming about the actual page yield per cartridge.

TN730 Cartridge
Bought the Brother HL-L230DW on the advise of a friend and so far the printer has been great. What is not great is the TN730 cartridge...just started getting a Low Toner warning but according to the page counter on the printer I've only printed 153 pages yet the specs say that I should get 2000 pages. Even if I got 1000 pages I'd feel pretty good about the cartridge but 153 pages is just stupid...I might as well kept my inkjet printer at that rate. C'mon Brother...you can do better than this.

Lasts Way Less than 1200 pages
I concur with everyone else. Shocked to be buying my second toner cartridge in 5 months and I print no more than 100 a month maximum and no large print jobs. Even use the "save toner" setting when printing. Very disappointing because the printer is perfectly functional for my personal home use.

My printer didn't make it to 400 pages. I printed A4 and Letter documents and almost no graphics or images. Most of the time I set the printer to its lowest dpi setting.
Great printer, but halve the promised/expected number of printed pages per cartridge.

Very misleading claims about page yield
I bought a toner cartridge in late June. I already have to replace the cartridge. During the SEVEN WEEKS that I used the now spent cartridge, I did not print a high volume of pages. I didn't use large fonts or graphics. So please, Brother, don't bother sending me that boilerplate excuse about ISO standards. Make a better product.

I was so excited when I bought my TN 730 because I thought I would be able to print 1200 pages. It printed less than half that amount. I could use the money I spent buying toner to buy another printer. I believe that the company should stop telling us how many pages we can print with the toner.

It would be nice if Brother Ind would listen to its customers. The MFP I have works great. The toner situation is another story. These complaints are from those who DO NOT have a big office such as myself. 400 pages or less for this cartridge is unacceptable. Actually, this is a very poor business practice. And yes, I know about ISO standards. What about good customer service and stop with excuses. What a quality product (the toner, not the printer itself).

Yield was around 400 pages. For the cost per page to print I could have a professional print company print the pages for me. This experience with Brother will be my last, I will never buy from the company again.

The prints were clean, and without streaks or other ink artifacts. However, the number of pages we were able to print from a new cartridge was surprisingly low. Here's our notification log:

Very Poor Toner Value
I am happy so far with the quality of the printer but I am mortified at how quickly this machine goes through toner. I bought a Brother because my old printer lasted so long and the toner cartridges lasted a long time even though I was using it for work, a couple of weeks at least. I haven't even had this new printer for a week and the toner cartridge is already empty. No warning, it just stopped printing saying low toner. Had I known how pathetic it would be, I would have chosen a different printer or at least ordered a couple of cartridges so I wouldn't be caught without a printer in the middle of my work day. You should be ashamed of yourself. My estimation of Brother quality has taken a very steep nose dive. Don't bother to give the response that you give on every review. You are sounding like a broken record already. I know that every printer manufacturer rips people off when it comes to the ink/toner but this is the worst that I have ever seen. The HP at work, with a number of people using it, including me, will go a month or more between cartridge changes. I got 2.5 days out of this cartridge. I should have gone with one of those printers. A little more up front but the toner savings would have paid for it in no time.

Misleading Page Yield
This toner prints NO WHERE near 1200 pages. I barely clear 600 pages before I have to purchase more toner. I must say I am a little disappoint because I have only had my printer two months and I have paid for it TWICE already in toner! At least lower the price or give a better product. I would not recommend this printer.

I have checked and absolutely confirmed that I have a genuine toner cartridge from Brother. Using the web interface under the Maintenance Information tab, my HL-L2390DW current page counter is at 979, with an average coverage of 7.21% per print. I used the "trial" toner cartridge that came with my printer, then purchased a single genuine Brother toner when it had to be replaced, thus, my "last 10 errors" reported are my current toner low, and the previous after my trial toner.
Error History(last 10 errors)
1 Toner Low Page : 925
2 Toner Low Page : 269
This is clear evidence that this model toner barely lasted half of it's posted capacity, with minimal usage and very low print coverage. And now I'm stuck with it unless I replace the printer, which I fully intend on doing with another brand. Will NOT recommend Brother products, absolute ripoff.

Yield is far below advertised.
I print the equivalent of 4 lines of text on a page, 12pt font. WAY less than an average full page of text. Starter cartridge (Prints 500 pages!) gave low print warning at 425 pages. If I were printing full pages, I'd have been out long ago. Very disappointing. No better yield than my 15 year old inkjet.
What IS the ISO standard printed page? 3 lines?

The Toner doesn't last long
I bought a brand new Brother printer and I believe I only printed less than 400 pages and now the printer stop working and ask me to replace the toner. Great printer, but it really cost lots of money to replace toner for it.

Great Printer Poor Toner Value
The printer is high quality but I as others am not impressed with the toner yield despite the ISO disclaimer. I've printed 494 pages with an 18% yield. Hardly toner heavy. I've purchased a high yield cartridge to give this another try, but this machine may be to expensive to retain with this cost per print.

REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES INCOMPLETELY PACKAGED
I purchased TN730 cartridge at Walmart for the L2395DW printer. The product did NOT have a tear strip required to activate and install (when installed, the printer read "Paper Jam" and wouldn't run--there was no paper jam!) I returned the package to Walmart and exchanged it for another package: SAME RESULT--NO PULL TAB TO ACTIVATE. I returned that for credit and then went to Best Buy. Before leaving the store, I opened the TN 730 package on the spot and found that one more cartridge was INCOMPLETELY MANUFACTURED. I am done with Brother.

Cartridge yield 300-400, not 1,200 as stated.
Brother is "at your side" with their hand on your wallet. These toner cartridges are lucky to get to 300-400 pages, not 1,200 resulting in a page cost of approximately 10 cents per page printed with a standard 12 pt Arial font, with no bold, and no graphics/images. The TN-760 is little better at near twice the price. Brothers standard reply seems to be that their cartridge yield is based on ISO testing. If you perform a search for "iso 19752 test page" you be able to retrieve the ISO 19752 test-page to view/compare what you are printing to the test page and/or to conduct your own test if you like. Basically, how it works it the same test page is printed again and again until the pages fade or the printer automatically stops due to end-of-life detection. The underperformance of Brother’s high priced OEM consumables (toner cartridges) fuels the compatible toner aftermarket with cartridges which perform as well at a fraction of the cost, or fuels disposal of relatively decent Brother printers simply because they are simply too expensive to operate, even for several hundred copies, and leaves printing to be handled by cost effective non-Brother enterprise printers. Feel free to share this review.

The toner doesn't last as long as it states.
I know for a fact that I have not been printed 1,200 pages from all of the cartridges that I have used. The last two didn't give me a good 500 pages. I bought them from Office Depot. However, I did purchase 5 from Walmart last year without any problems.

Dissapointingly low print yield
I have to add my voice to all the other reviewers who state that the toner does not yield anywhere close to the promised number of pages. The toner cartridge came with the printer and I expected it to print around 1000 pages based on the promised 1200 pages. The toner ran out after 512 pages with an average print coverage of 6.14%.
According to the sources on the internet, printer manufacturers use a 5% coverage for their estimates, which means that I should have been able to get at least 917 pages with a 6.14% coverage from their 1200 page toner cartridge.
Brother, your can do better.

The reason I chose a laser printer this time is that I don't print very often. It works very well and it works when I need it. I had only used inkjet printers before and it was so frustrating to not be able to print because the ink dried out or something was clogged. I tried different brands but they all did that. I'm happy now.

Overpriced for its production
I am giving this product 2 stars for being overpriced. I was purchasing knock-off products for half the price and they would last 1.5 month before it was low on toner. I decided to try the brand to compare quality. I did notice the font being better and more clear. However the toner and drum would last 1-2 weeks ONLY before asking to be replaced and then stoppping to print. I will stick with the knock-off. Please do better BROTHER!

I am very disillusioned with this L2395DW printer experience that requires such expensive accessories. I agree with other one-star reviews here---disappointment. I had an HP ink cartridge color printer prior to this one, and I am going to invest in another HP and stop using this Brother, which I only purchased five months ago on 10/02/19. I'll be bankrupt buying accessories for the print capacity this printer has. HP printers are much more reliable and affordable.

I am so disappointed in the toner here. The machine is great but my goodness i am an accountant and i am going through toner so fast I may have to just buy a new machine. What a shame. BROTHER do something to fix this mess. Right now feeling like i should have went with HP.

I reached 1168 pages and still didn't run out.
The thing is that the Brother DCP-L2550DW series are not coming with the TN730 cartridge. It is a 200-250 pages "demo" toner cartridge that is in no way boasting the claims of TN730. All in all,I think 1200 pages are good for the TN730 at the price that i paid for at Office Max.But that's just my 2 cents.

Toner is finished in hardly 400 pages
I bought this printer to complete a 500 page printing job and thought I would still have extra 200 pages in spare since it claims to give 700 pages in the started toner. However, the toner ran low just in 250 pages and by the time I reached 400, it gave up on me.

Printer Cartridge TN730
This is my third printer cartridge I have bought and have been very, very disappointed in the number is pages I can print. Brothers say 1200 pages but more like 450 to 500 pages. I’m not printing any graphics just standard pages. Brothers have always meant quality products but missed the target on this one. Gets very expensive to run the printer. very disappointed ??

Well short of 1200 pages
purchased/installed printer March 31, 2020. As of April 29 I have printed 399 pages and I am being forced to replace the toner.

Disappointed with print output
Also getting no where near the 1200 pages ... I purchased this on 3/20/2020 and was only able to print out 574 pages. Printer just stopped printing when Replace toner display came up. I am only printing b/w text ,but do a great deal of scanning. Does this affect toner cartridge?.. Granted it is a starter cartridge, but I should get a good deal more volume.Wish Brother would recommend settings for different user types. This is getting very expensive.

You will not get close to 1200
Starter cartridge lasted 785 pages at 4.75% (printing shipping labels 12mos after hitting continue mode for 3 months. This TN730 has printed 844 pages at 4.43% and has been on continue mode for a couple months. Won’t get many more pages that will be scannable. You can see your output by hitting menu start menu, (see 0) hit up button, go to maintenance 77. It’ll print your report.

Like the printer; not the toner cartridge
Bought the HL-L2390DW just over a month ago; maximum 460 pages printed before replace cartridge message appears and printer won't print another page, even though the last printing was perfect...not faded or splotchy.

Horrible...printed 300 pages then ran out of toner
Purchased the MFC-L2750DW printer. After the starter cartridge emptied, I purchased the TN-730. I average about 100 pages a month. After 3 months and 350 pages, it ran out! 1/4th of the 1200 page yield. Do not recommend and next time I have to buy a printer, it won't be Brother.

Toner is not printing the estimated 1200 pages. It is printing under 1000 pages per toner. Would have to purchase the TN760 and not get the 3000 pages as stated

Low Yield
I just bought the DPP-L2550DW. I love the machine! But if the toner cartridge that was inside the printer when I bought it was the TN-730, then it is not at all what the yield indicates. I printed less than 600 pages and then ran out in the middle of a project. Just glad I bought another toner cartridge, the TN-760!

Wrong Cartridge selected by printer software
Brother software running on my computer incorrectly led to 730 toner, when I actually needed 850. I had opened the package before realizing it wouldn't fit. Brother gave me a lot of pushback about returning it for credit, but finally relented. Reason for replacing Brother cartridge prematurely was that it was leaking messy black powder onto printing. Third-party cartridge was much less expensive, less than half the cost, and is working great.

Worked briefly. Then stopped early in toner life
This toner worked for a while. Then we got a printer jam. I removed the cartridge while fixing the jam. When I put it back in, the printer stopped working saying that the cartridge isn't a legitimate Brother toner cartridge. I bought it new and it is in fact from Brother. It's just really frustrating.

I purchased the drum unit 730 from the Brother website where it said prints up to 12,000 pages, I think this is incorrect . The TN 730 prints up to 1,200 pages. I think they have incorrect information on th site. I think they need to review their website.

Terrible - False Advertising or Dishonest at best
Blew through the cartridge that came with the printer AND the extra one I purchased after a CUMULATIVE 600 pages. I had it on 600dpi. The box says 1200 pages per cartridge. Not even close. These were just EOBs for work - nothing too intricate. What an absolute punch to the gut. Other reviews seem to state the same. Tried to talk to someone about it though Brother chat - CLOSED at 1pm on a Friday (EST). Tried to call, was told about 9 minute wait - I hung up after 10 minutes because I am trying to get work done and I don't have the time (OR MONEY) for this.
