Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. I LOVE the build quality, but It was definitely unnecessary slooooooow, at first, but I've been around the block a few times. Delete the unnecessary programs, cut off all the random apps/programs that startup automatically when you power on the laptop, disable all the programs it won't let you delete that you'll never use, disable the feature that allows program to run in the background in all the apps, and BAM!!! now it runs fine!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It can't even run zoom I got this laptop for school, was hoping maybe it could run Minecraft at minimum graphics at like 20 frames but it averaged 5 fps. Couldn't handle a zoom meeting for class, takes thirty seconds to open a single new tab, and can't keep up with my typing on Google docs. It doesn't have a touchscreen or fold or anything, it runs like crap, so why is it priced just a little cheaper than my touchscreen folding laptop that could actually run games and do everything I needed it to for school? If I hadn't paid for accident protection I would return it but I need a laptop so I'm stuck with this one now.

The size of the screen was also important for future use. I would not run a high performance requiring program. So this was a good choice. But I did not expect such slow machine. I will be using it, because I don't think I can find a good one with this price. But I don't recommend if you want any performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Software issue" This laptop has some kind of issue where the CPU is constantly running at 100% and makes it impossible to use. It was sent back to Lenovo for repairs the day after I got it, and was sent back to me "fixed" with exactly the same issue. A support tech whom I had trouble understanding told me that the problem must be a "software issue," which is odd because they reinstalled the entire operating system and the problem persists. The build quality of the machine seems good and it seems quite sturdy, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1.

I am trying to keep this review realistic. I paid $145 shipped to my house for this. It is great for what I paid for it. It runs a program I want to run, and it does it without any problem. This computer cannot really be upgraded. It is what it is. I am extremely happy given the price I paid.

It has a great, well reviewed processor, really good LED screen, all the standard usb, bluetooth, wifi, HDMI, SD card slot and usb3.0. This is the right size for portability while staying large enough for quality reading. I've had other Lenovo laptops before this one and they all are very consistent in speed, durability and reliability. This one has a battery that lasted a day and a half on full use. Really tough price to beat given all the specs. I highly recommend this unit as it will not disappoint the student, teacher, and even the casual gamer.

It boots up fast, has a long battery life and the screen certainly neets my needs for surfing the internet, watching sports and YouTube videos. Can't go wrong with this laptop for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very slow wifi connection. Not for internet I ordered this Lenovo laptop on labor day sale 2022 for $136.50. I thought I was getting a very good deal but boy, I was so wrong. I am only getting around 15-25 mbp/s when I ran the speed test by ookla. My other Lenovo I bought at Walmart with better specs last black Friday sale 2021 for $150 is going around 150-200 mbp/s. Small price difference but way faster than this one. I guess I got what I paid for. It is also very slow when it start and very slow performance. I don't want to return because it probably will cost me 1/3 of the price just to ship it back. Not recommended for this particular model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensational Value, but know what you are getting OK, I've already got a great laptop, with MS Office and all my apps on it, but it's quite large and heavy. I've been looking for an ultra-light to do just two things: Surf the web at Starbucks and elsewhere, and play Movies in the air on American Airlines (BYOD policy). My must-haves were it to be slim and ultra-light, with a touch screen and minimum 4 Gigs of RAM. In theory I could have bought a Chrome-book, but Google is fundamentally evil between all of their censorship & spying. This Lenovo fits those mission specs perfectly and I love it !!! About the only downside (not an issue for me) is that the AMD A6 Chip is seriously under-powered, it probably wouldn't even run MS Office. If you have similar purchase specs, I highly recommend this Lenovo !!!

I thought the charger broke, bought another charger only to discover the brand new charger doesn't work either. I only need this for writing and streaming movies, but it won't even turn on anymore. I've had another Lenovo laptop that I loved for over 2 years, so not sure why this one is a total junk. Would not recommend.

I chose the Lenovo brand because I just recently replaced my HP Desktop with a Lenovo and realize I should have converted to this brand years ago. I could not be more pleased with the built in services and efficiency. I will never go back to HP again.

The screen is large and it accommodates the page enough for everything to fit in. The moment it turns in it takes maybe less than 30 seconds to log in.

I had been using a different laptop but now I'd say Lenovo is an excellent laptop. It wide screen makes it easy and appealing to use. When charged fully, it can last upto three days depending on how frequent one is using it. It is affordable and it has a chip in where one can insert the tinny memory card and at same time it has where one can insert USB external drive. It is just a great laptop, go grab yours today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Senior citizen friendly Went from a 15 in. Lenovo Ideapad to this 14 in. model, it was fairly easy to get up and running and I appreciated that. Kind of miss the numbers keypad to the right of the keyboard and fortunately I don't use CD's or DVD's that often so that not being on this laptop is not a big deal. I'm a senior citizen that just basically uses a laptop for email, shopping, social media and occasionally simple computer games and this serves the purpose quite nicely. While not as large as my Ideapad, the screen is large enough that I have no trouble seeing it and the keys are very responsive to the touch. Price was a big factor for me and finding this on sale was a huge bonus & deciding factor as being on a fixed income, I watch my pennies very carefully. This is my 3rd Lenovo and have always been pleased with their products.

The initial speed seemed a bit slow for what I'm used to, but that was due to initial startup processes. It is light and compact, but still easy to use and the screen is very easy on the eyes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SLOW I unboxed this and tried it out. Right out of the box hooked up to the internet...nothing running-not surfing just idling, the CPU was running at 100%. I don't know THAT much about computers but I'm pretty sure that isn't good. I made attempts to surf the net and it was painful-slow. My cheap cell phone surfs faster than this tablet. I also found the keys very awkward for me to use. That is a personal preference. HOWEVER, Lenovo has been terrific with their returns/customer service so I can not complain about that. In my opinion, choose another model. I have had other Lenovo's that I loved. Just not this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpectedly Awesome and Can Even Do Some Gaming Gonna be as honest as I possibly can here. I'm an avid gamer/movie watcher/web browser. I bought this laptop around a week ago and it's met my expectations and then some. Overall, I got some very excellent value out of what I paid for. Highly recommend this laptop. Pros: - Comes with Windows 10 Pro already installed. - Updating Windows/Drivers has been very simple. - 14" 1080p Display that looks very good for TN. - Can run games that require 8-16-32-64-128 MB's of VRAM. Going to try 256-512 next. - Being able to install and use multiple gaming launchers is excellent. - Happy as can be to be able to use a MicroSD card for 256GB additional hard drive space. - Plays 1080p movies flawlessly from USB or when stored on the laptop. - Switching resolutions while gaming is done very well. You can pretty much choose anything below 1080p. I prefer to use 1080p, 900p, 720p and 800x600 when you have to. - Battery life just does pass for me. You can get a good 8-12 hours out of it if you're not doing anything too demanding(going over the base speed with the CPU. And you can get around I'd say 5-7 hours when doing demanding tasks. Charges very quickly too, around 1 minute per %. Which is basically 100 minutes for 100%. - The keyboard and trackpad are just above average imo. The keys don't stick or anything and the trackpad is the perfect size. - Tons of ports for the modern gamer/user. Even has a USB-C to CHARGE the laptop QUICK. - Doesn't get hot when you keep it on a flat surface and keep the CPU speed around its base speed or in between its base speed and max turbo speed. I will say the bottom of the laptop does get a "tiny bit hot" when you have it on say your lap or a blanket or something and when it's running at its turbo CPU speed. This is not a con to me because you can just avoid those things and all is well. - The "woodish" finish on the inside of the laptop has been better than I expected for what it is. I thought it might not be durable but it definitely is VERY durable. It also absorbs heat very well and I think that's a great idea to have gone with. The finish of it kind of helps with fingerprints. - Customer Service can seem like they're not any good but let me tell you, they've done everything they can to help me with everything I've needed. Imo you do have to be patient with them and when you do that they are excellent imo. Cons: - Chrome has a moderate issue running 1080p YT videos. I'd say 60% run just fine, 40% are choppy and load over and over while watching. And it's not my internet at all. Looked all over for a fix and could not find one. However, the best thing to do is to simply watch 1080p YT videos on Internet Explorer(or other browsers). Or... Simply bump down 1080p YT videos playing in Chrome to 720p. 720p or below YT videos run very well in Chrome. - The outside of the laptop is a fingerprint magnet. It can be cleaned but you seriously have to do some research on the perfect material to clean it. - The trackpad surface gets filled with fingerprints very quickly. A weekly cleaning is necessary. The only way to come up with any more cons is to simply look for them but tbh I am fine with what I have bought.

I wish I had a say in the purchase as I would have advised against this device for the school. My problem with it is its processor; it isn't powerful enough for a school. The machine will idle at >80% CPU usage with only a few apps (Teams, Edge, some 365 apps. This causes simple tasks to take longer than necessary. Also, there aren't any fans in the device; it is all passive cooling through the keyboard. The screen isn't bad, though. It has a good resolution, crisp picture, and the students love the touchscreen. If you plan on using the device for simple web browsing, then it could work. But anything else, and you could be risking it with its slow, duo core processor (no L3 cache).

At some point (a few weeks after purchase), the computer started go from "on" to "sleep mode" and then continue that pattern every few seconds. I restarted the computer and all seems well. We purchased for our kids to have a "starter" lap top for homework and online research so for that purpose, and again the price, I think it's fine.

Big plus is the charging port (USB-C and the fact that it boots quickl, using standard Windows-10 configuration(s). It is not upgraded by plug-in components, but it does as well as any other limited laptop I have tried. This will likely serve well for simple edits of documents and display is suitable for moderately high resolution images. No surprises and very economical.

I only needed a laptop for my back up drive to store my daughters pictures of when she was a baby, my pictures, re-look/ re-watch my daughters baby vids/ pics and I use it to watch some youtube videos. I don't use it for socially media since I normally use my cellphone for it. The lighting on the screen is kinda weird but I'm not a picky person so it doesn't really bother me. However, it's weak and dated CPU could barely handle any of the content on modern day websites. I threw a basic but heavy content website like YouTube at it and it was so slow to render. I can't recommend this laptop given how poorly it performed.

It is easy to navigate and is everything I need to use for everyday activities of reading news, email, research and chatting with family members. I had seen these computers in stores but since I had not spoken with anyone who owned or used one, I never purchased one. I could have saved a lot of money and been pleased a long time ago had I not passed by the Lenovo computers.

I knew that when I purchased it. What I don't like is the wireless constantly losing connection. It is also slow on the internet. That should never happen. I have a fire tablet and another wireless device that are faster and more reliable on the internet. That is why I gave it three stars and not 5. I purchased it as a tablet replacement. Screen is so much larger and I don't need drive space. I have another laptop and desktop for that stuff. Still well worth it in my opinion. It was a bit over $125 so overall I am happy with it.

I have had it for 2 weeks and installed a few programs necessary for school use and I only have 17GB free left. it plays videos from YouTube very nicely and it loads the desktop pretty decent. multitasking is not encouraged, but it delivers good performance when using it for a single task like typing on word or online. Overall, it's a good and fast laptop but it's lacking storage space, just installing windows updates will take up almost half of its storage capacity.

Everything is good, except the screen, even it could be a little better but it's ok, keeping in mind I got it just for 129.99!!!! I was surprised there is no fan at all! Only passive cooling. The keyboard is very good mechanically. It isn't light lid version. The booting time is longer than SSD laptop, because it has slower flash drive EMMC. It's very nice looking, light laptop to use for some application not requiring much powerful - such as office apps, Youtube, Skype, etc.

The prime being the full hd display which is stunning with the anti glare display. The look and feel the keyboard layout and it’s play is perfect for heavy usage too. Battery back up is perfect for this configuration. Absolutely VFM for the $129 nu the door buster.

I'm running free AV and a free personal firewall, which probably isn't helping, but I think it would be slow regardless. I bought it to browse the web and do light word processing, etc., but it even struggles with that. I should have bought the unit with 128GB of storage, which is expandable, but the $129 price tag was too enticing.

Make sure to let windows complete its update before using....it tends to slow down while performing updates. Great for everyday browsing and email. Did not buy this to play games. Using this for webex now that we are asked to shelter in place, and it handles that just fine, no problem! In summary, this is a good everyday laptop for everyday tasks. Even good for web conferencing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Price If you're looking at this level of computer, you're looking for something that gets the job done, not the latest and greatest. And it does the job. Not the same level keyboard as the ThinkPads I've gotten before, but still satisfactory. Only place where it loses a star is that it's hard to load multiple tabs at once in Chrome. That's actually a little annoying, but no major complaints.

Unlike a chromebook, there’s much you can do without WiFi. The system works fine for online chats, via Skype or whatever. I use it to tutor kids. The battery is a powerhouse compared with most PC laptops. Cons: the hard drive/RAM are soldered to the mainboard so you can’t swap out for something bigger. It can be a little slow when using it with many applications open.

This machine is very sturdy and has a decent keyboard and trackpad, and it performs well as long as you don't try to run too many programs at once. The screen is true 1080p, but the vertical view angle is extremely narrow, so the screen needs to be at just the right angle for you to see it properly. The audio is loud enough, but not very clear. It's adequate for web-browsing and office apps, but not great for watching video.

I've not had any problems with it at all. My only "complaint" is that it doesn't come with Office 2019 on it - some Lenovos do but apparently the one I purchased does not. Not a happy surprise but not a deal breaker for me.

The hardware i of course minimal in terms of power but would definitely work well for simple tasks such as web and office- which is why you are purchasing a sub $300 PC anyways. What is incredible about this PC are: 1- It comes with Win 10 Pro!!!!!! 2-) It has full HD screen (1080) !!!! At this price point just nothing compares to this machine. Plus, it comes with Lenovo reliability which is unmatched (I own 5 Lenovo computers. None had any problems. I got an HP PC last year. Two USB ports are already dead.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bang-for-the-buck screen res & battery life champ Bagged this during the Cyber Monday salefor an incredible (and apparently occasionally reoccurring) $130 (with a cash back bonus of 15% from Rakuten, plus sales tax - net around $120 out of pocket). Typically, I’m a Mac user - but as a software professional, it always helps to have a physical Windows PC around. Don’t expect this machine to give you a respectable FPS on your GPU-heavy games, render 3D at a serious clip, comfortably run the latest Adobe suite, or be a lending hand in training your ML models or debugging a local .NET Standard enterprise-level monolithic application. That being said, for anyone who just needs to run one of those obscure Windows-only tools you can’t do under virtualization, surf the web, use MS Office, or even some light scripting/programming - you’d be hard-pressed to find a better bargain. Sure the screen isn’t the brightest, but it is 1080p ... and it comes with Windows 10 Pro (albeit the Education edition, which I’m sure saves Lenovo a ton on licensing fees). Those two specs alone make this thing worth the price of admission. Yes, the AMD A6 is not a workhorse, it’s more like My Little Pony, but it sips the battery over a respectable 5-6 hours of constant use (I have yet to drain the thing during an average work day), rather than chugging it in 2-3 hours like my behemoth HP Z-Book. And speaking of size - while it’s not quite as svelte as my 2017 13” MacBook Pro, it’s a lot closer than I would have thought - and adds less than 3 lbs to my backpack (yes, I carry both... the HP is a paperweight and sits on my desk in the office). Tack on 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4, the micro SD-card reader, 2 USB-A ports and one USB-C port which is used to power / charge the thing (as well as offering a usable type-C USB 3.1 data port) - which means I carry just the one power brick and portable dock........ and I’m feeling like I just bought this thing after it “fell off the back of a truck”. I don’t really have any gripes with this machine, specifically (at least none that aren’t shared with a majority of Windows-based laptops). Sure, it would have been great to be able to upgrade the internal storage, but I will live with my Google Drive and SD cards - and for what i use it for, the 4GB of RAM is plenty. It boots up quick enough (for Windows), and the construction is actually not bad (I was expecting something much cheaper feeling). The all-black exterior hides the “budget laptopness” well, and the small Lenovo logo on the top is the only subtle branding you’ll find on this sucker. I honestly wish I had bought a couple more (talk about being a hero for the holidays!), an A+ in bang-for-the-buck value. If I had paid twice as much, I would have only given it 4 stars - if that’s any endorsement

I also miss having a DVD/CD drive, but I guess that's not very essential anymore! So far, I've had little to no real complaints. I have noticed that the PC seems to run a little slowly, but that could be something I'm doing wrong. Overall, a very solid laptop and very user-friendly for getting it set up.

Amazing battery life; I use this as a secondary computer for simple word/excel at work; along with simple web browsing and youtube. Battery can last me up to 8 hours since I like to keep my screen at the lowest brightness. As long as you are not expecting a gaming laptop then this should be perfect for day to day tasks.

I've used it mostly to stream a few sports games, netflix and light internet browsing. I've also used it for remote access to my work PC and it's been flawless so far. The processor is a bit slower than a gaming laptop, but once you get going it's hardly noticeable and pages load decently quick. For the price I paid you simply can't beat the durability and performance of this laptop. Did I mention how thin and lightweight this thing is? It's an amazing deal and well worth the money I spent. The screen resolution is very good, the size makes it easy to carry around, the processor is sufficient and there is enough storage (64GB. I did have a few minor issues that were a nuisance: no caps-on-lock light so I will try a small app to install, Windows-10 came without S-mode even though the online description said it did so I wasted some time trying to remove it, and the right button on the touch-pad seems to act differently that the right mouse button so I added a mouse.

There is no humming coming from the laptop during startup--it's smoothly silent. My only complaint is the battery being a little hard to access, but other than that, it's great.

My only complain (note 4 stars instead of 5 has been storage size which is only 64 Gb. In 2019... that could be an issue for some people. However, these days SD cards can be purchased (256Gb for around $30) so you can easily ad additional storage to your little 14w. Other then that I was really impressed. I have purchased two 14w and both are now running MS Office 2016 Pro as fast as any other of my laptops that I have paid 3-5 times as much. I have never intended to use these devices for work but now I find myself typing most of my emails and quotes using my little "worker bees".

Overall, I got some very excellent value out of what I paid for. Highly recommend this laptop. Pros: - Comes with Windows 10 Pro already installed. - Updating Windows/Drivers has been very simple. - Surprisingly runs multiple tabs in Chrome provided only 1 of them has video in them. - 14" 1080p Display that looks very good for TN. - Can run games that require 8-16-32-64-128 MB's of VRAM. Going to try 256-512 next. - Being able to install and use multiple gaming launchers is excellent. - Happy as can be to be able to use a MicroSD card for 256GB additional hard drive space. Runs games from it flawlessly. - Plays 1080p movies flawlessly from USB or when stored on the laptop. - Switching resolutions while gaming is done very well. You can pretty much choose anything below 1080p. I prefer to use 1080p, 900p, 720p and 800x600 when you have to. - Battery life just does pass for me. You can get a good 8-12 hours out of it if you're not doing anything too demanding(going over the base speed with the CPU). And you can get around I'd say 5-7 hours when doing demanding tasks. Charges very quickly too, around 1 minute per %. Which is basically 100 minutes for 100%. - The keyboard and trackpad are just above average imo. The keys don't stick or anything and the trackpad is the perfect size. - Tons of ports for the modern gamer/user. Even has a USB-C to CHARGE the laptop QUICK. - Doesn't get hot when you keep it on a flat surface and keep the CPU speed around its base speed or in between its base speed and max turbo speed. I will say the bottom of the laptop does get a "tiny bit hot" when you have it on say your lap or a blanket or something and when it's running at its turbo CPU speed. This is not a con to me because you can just avoid those things and all is well. - The "woodish" finish on the inside of the laptop has been better than I expected for what it is. I thought it might not be durable but it definitely is VERY durable. It also absorbs heat very well and I think that's a great idea to have gone with. The finish of it kind of helps with fingerprints. Cons: - Chrome has a moderate issue running 1080p YT videos. I'd say 60% run just fine, 40% are choppy and load over and over while watching. And it's not my internet at all. Looked all over for a fix and could not find one. However, the best thing to do is to simply watch 1080p YT videos on Microsoft Edge(or other browsers). Or... Simply bump down 1080p YT videos playing in Chrome to 720p. 720p or below YT videos run decently well in Chrome. - The outside of the laptop is a fingerprint magnet. It can be cleaned but you seriously have to do some research on the perfect material to clean it. - The trackpad surface wears really fast. Not exactly a con but expect a new trackpad color over time. - Viewing angles are not the greatest but as long as it's in front of you, you're good. - Submitting a review takes almost 2 months because you have to submit it when THEY email it to you. The only way to come up with any more cons is to simply look for them but tbh I am fine with what I have bought.

I enabled the battery life extension mode to maximize battery life (it charges the battery to 60% only when plugged in to extend battery lifetime. I set up the BIOS to allow me to boot from a Linux USB also. Overall, a very competent and inexpensive laptop with a screen that is big enough.

But after some hard drive tragedies, I got this to do some data recovery, and random work related tasks. I have been using it most days for a few weeks now, and I have nothing negative to say about it. Id does all I need it to do. Now I wouldnt expect to play any high res games on it, but you can watch movies, do most anything online, and unless you need to edit video for your job, it will do that basic stuff too. If you just want a steady typer & video player, then you cant go wrong.

For the most part, I have been pleased with it, with the exception of the set-up process when, somehow, the two language settings were not matched (one was UK english and the other US english). The mismatch caused the keyboard to switch up the @ and " symbols. I believe the problem may have been my own fault because I had difficulty with the touch pad to input my choices. I bought a wireless mouse and dongle to overcome the touch pad issue, googled for a solution, and found the way to fix the problem.

I would have given it five stars except for the lack of a CAPS LOCK indicator and the fact that the power adapter plug is quite tight to insert and remove. I can see someone damaging the power jack if they're not careful. Overall, I'm quite pleased though. We purchased 10 for staff to work from home.

This one is a good looking laptop. Not blazing fast processor performance but adequate with good battery life. Graphics are surprisingly good for the money and with full 1920x1080 display. My only gripe is I thought the specs mentioned back-lit keyboard and it is not, only the upgraded version has it. This is the perfect laptop to take on the go. Light, small but not too small, sufficiently fast including the hard drive, very quiet to the point that I wonder if it has a fan, stylish enough not to make you embarrassed around Apples fans, and adequate for anything you throw at it. All this with pretty good battery life to boot to be able to go full wireless without power anxiety.

The product is based on false/misleading claims, and it is followed by false promises of premium care. With Covid-19 resulting in online schools, my kids can't use this for their elementary school. It just freezes and lags on audio/video. They replaced whole motherboard, still no difference. Premium Care would keep on saying they have escalated and someone would call, but after multiple such promises, no one has called over last 10 days.

The AMD A6 is not a powerhouse processor, but it is more than adequate for these tasks. The FHD screen is vibrant and clear, the speakers OK for a small laptop. The Lenovo Vantage app has a good array of tools to help keep things running smoothly. The Migration Assistant gets things easily off the old computer and onto the new one. The Windows 10 Pro 64 works wonderfully well. As I said, for the price you can't do better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased I was skeptical about the purchase of a laptop in general. My last one was heavy and generally a pain not a help. This was the polar opposite experience. So lightweight and soooo easy to set up for the ‘over 50’ crowd. I was up and running minutes after opening the box - WiFi connection was a breeze as was e-mail etc. I’ve gotten so much work done in the am before I’m off and running and made Black Friday shopping a much less stressful experience. I think this is perfect for students and seniors alike. I’m so very pleased with the quality, price, ease of use and portability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase, well worth it. Particularly lightweight, perfect for those on the go who need a decent laptop with enough power to last through a work day. Personally as an author, am kind of picky about what I write or type up on, this came with the exact programs I needed, and is easier than most brands to use without over stocking us with useless apps that are irrelevant. My sister got one too, (my recommendation,) for her games and said the screen was awesome and it played fast and well, just what she wanted and needed for her online obsessions. Seriously, whether you just need a simple thing for work, or for to play on, maybe both, I would highly recommend this particular brand and laptop as an excellent option well worth the investment. It 'totally rocks' in all aspects. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue box has me stumped I'm not a tech geek by any means. I just needed a simple laptop to do basic functions online. This laptop can do that and I've been able to navigate pretty quickly and with several tabs open. I do have an odd glitch that I've never seen before though: after I click on a box or button to open a new page, the blue outline of that box stays on the next page and interferes with whatever I'm doing there. It doesn't go away until I click a different box. That makes me wonder what else could go wrong and how long the device will actually last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop for the price I bought this laptop for light word processing at work on a light item for travel with long battery life. This is my 3rd lenovo. I was using an ideapad 120s for the past two years, and I loved how light it was, but the 2gb ram was a bit limiting. This is much faster because with 4gb, there's enough ram to run normal aps and still have headroom. I wouldn't expect this to do photo editing or other intense work, but I have a desktop for that. The screen is not bad either. Not the same saturation as a high end panel, but better than I expected. I have a 128gb mini usb drive I use for all my data, so the hard drive size is not an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good laptop [64GB versio won't allow SSD upgrade] Great keyboard, good screen, decent battery life for basic laptop tasks (text editing, spreadsheets, web browsing, watching videos etc.) 4GB memory is enough for this even in spite of Win10. My version of 14W with 64GB "disk" has chip soldered to board, and there are no sockets inside to add extra M.2 PCIe or SATA SSD storage and I am disappointed. I would have to add a PCIe socket to the solder pads on the motherboard to do this or use (dubious) fine wires to connect such a device to the PCB pads. However, the machine has a microSD socket and putting in a quality SanDIsk "ExtremeDuty" 128...256MB will serve as a (slower) storage device and move wear to it from the internal 64GB memory - put your apps in the 64MB memory but move all your file storage (email, docs, media etc) to the 'external' media... do NOT use a CHEAP ordinary SSD card for this, they can wear quickly. Lenovo could easily have installed another PCIe NVM socket to allow update; these devices in quantity are well under a dollar and would add, max, $3 to retail price at worst. If you are going to buy this 14W laptop, buy the one with 128GB NVMe SSD that can be upgraded.

They are basic laptops, but they do everything that a beginner who is using (actually seeing) a computer for the first time needs. We purchased over 16 of these this year so obviously we are pleased with the performance. Only negative I have, is the process of using a prepaid visa card caused issues that took several days to fix.

Wish it had active cooling, removable ram, an additional nvme slot (Pins are there they just didn’t solder it on) and you need a dongle adaptor to use usb c and charge. I was unable to use the usb c without the dongle.

I’ve had a Lenovo think pad for several yearS with a tremendous amount of files, music, pictures, etc. and never a minutes problem. She loves it and the best part is that it didn’t break the bank. No it don’t have all the souped up bells and whistles that some other models have but it is FUNCTIONAL and gets the job done with no problems. And I my book that’s a WIN!

The laptop is a good value for the price but don’t expect it to do any heavy lifting.. a couple of open tabs in your browser, no multitasking & it is usable.. 3.5 stars. Try to debloat the system with Windows10Debloater.ps1 script & it will perform a tad better. Be warned though- there are no options to upgrade the RAM or the paltry eMMC storage space - you are stuck with it.

Had to demand a supervisor on the 4th call and 2 weeks later) Replacement worked but functions AT THE LEVEL OF A 1990s computer. All i wanted was basic internet and a few minor tasks (my "non secure" laptop). But OMG. It can barely open 2 internet windows at once, and slow at that. 2 tasks? forget it. And it crashes regularly with a basic widows error suggesting it may be the harddrive or another core function. I would have returned it but was not worth another marathon of calls to an incompetent support center. I dont know how this would ever work in a school setting.

Paid approximately $16 more on Amazon. Loaded with features ( FHD 1920 / 1080, IPS Screen, Touchscreen, Precision Touchpad, Backlit Keyboard, Spillproof Keyboard, Aluminum Construction, 128 SSD, Military Grade Quality and Mechanically Anchored Keyboard) is unheard of at this price. Also, it is thin but has a very solid feel to it. If you can get it on sale at Lenovo for $199 or close to it on Amazon do not hesitate. Best computer purchase I have ever made!!!

Processing power from the AMD A6 processor is leaps and bounds better than the Intel equivalent. Biggest surprise was the WiFi performance. I was able to stream Xbox One games with the Xbox companion app without any problems. Laptop stays remarkably cool under load. If you can get the base version for $150 or less you won't be disappointed.

It is more capable than the chromebooks because the built in windows pro light edition. It supports encryptions (windows bit-lock) which it ready handy for carry around at school or public place. The cpu is fast enough. Storage space I highly recommend to carry a microSD card or a USB drive to save your data. By the way, the system does not support encrypt MicroSD card. The display does not has wide viewer angle. It discolored when you view it from side or put lid in a wrong angle. Overall, full holiday shopping price. This is a good laptop for entry-level user.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value for the price It's a good project laptop. Or a laptop for specific usecases. Processor is lacking. Everything else is solid. Build quality is amazing. If you plan to use or give this to someone as their only laptop, think carefully if they would be willing to wait for webpages to draw. If they're a young child only using like Word and YouTube, it works. For an older parent, it would probably be better to get something a little more than this one as they will get frustrated by this one. It works great for me because it's pretty rugged, so I have my nice laptop, but if I'm working with power tools then I will use this one so I don't have to worry about sawdust and stuff on my nicer laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's ok for the price. I bought this as a Christmas gift during the black friday sale, so i got it for cheap. It is definitely a solis laptop and works fine. However, straight out the box it was getting really hot just from set up. It's also a bit slow. However, the price was the same as a decent Chromebook so you're essentially getting what you pay for. Overall it's not too bad if you're just using it to browse and play LIGHT internet games.

I had the computer for 8 days and it seemed to work fine but when I went to install my new printer, did not work, I assumed it was the printer but then installed the printer on my other Lenovo computer and it worked fine. The printer driver software on this computer is faulty. I am waiting for an exchange.

The only issue that will bother most people is the fact that it runs slower then most laptops. I’ve had the web browser crash once on me within 5 hours of using it and yes this was after everything was updated.

Thank you Lenovo for building an excellent 64bit Linux compatible machine. I’ve been waiting some time to replace aging 32 bit netbook computers and this one hit it out of the park. It will remain very functional well into the future. Say goodbye to ‘defective by design’ proprietary hw/sw with this one.

Reviews stated that it was a decent laptop that could handle multitasking, was fast for work or school and could take a beating. While definitely a strong, resilient feeling notebook, its speed and performance are a whole other factor. Boot time is ok thanks to the SSD, but launching applications, opening web pages and other simple tasks shows the limits of this system. Multitasking makes this even worse. Switching between applications, say Microsoft Word and the web browser, there is noticable lag. If a page is loading or an application is loading, the whole system seems to freeze. There are often times where I can be using any app, like Microsoft Word or just browsing (with any browser I installed and suddenly the CPU usage goes up to 100% and the laptop fails to respond or takes AGES to complete it's task. The same happens with the system RAM as well which is very easily and quickly taken up by any application you run plus the normal background processes. At any given moment the RAM is in use at LEAST 25 to 30% when idle, and upwards to 75% upon opening any application. The end result is a very slow, unresponsive laptop device that can't keep up with following school presentations, writing papers or performing research and taking notes. Aesthetically speaking, the laptop looks great and feels great to use, even though the matte finish REALLY leaves noticable finger prints all over the place. I don't feel as bad for purchasing this, knowing I spent very little while on sale, but I feel like the performance that was toted in the product description doesn't match with how the laptop actually performs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good valued for basic computer needs I always want to get a basic laptop so I can take it with me and get my work done when I travel without worrying too much if it gets lost. This unit fits my needs and budget. Compared to my primary laptop with i7 CPU and 1TB SSD, obviously this 14w is slower and the video streaming isn’t too smooth (it’s hiccuped a lot indeed) if I use Chrome. The video hiccuped issue can be resolved by using Edge. My unit’s 64gb one and it doesn’t let the user upgrade the hard drive. Technically the whole unit’s not upgradable except the WiFi card. Nevertheless I use Citrix when I need to work remotely, this basic laptop lets me get my work done without any issues. That’s why I still recommend this laptop if you only need it for basic needs.

We needed a laptop for our intro robotics team; something for the students to communicate with the robot using Bluetooth, and access the web to do research. Bluetooth and controlling the robot works just great, but Internet access from this laptop is so slow. I am also not a big fan of the laptop’s touchpad.

I use it for school and work and it has met all my needs. It is very easy to navigate and the tech support is wonderful. I like the size of the screen and i like that it is so lightweight. I'm sure that i will return to this site for future purchases. Online ordering was fast and easy and received my products in a very timely manner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good laptop but not fast enough Great looking laptop with a nice design. I use it for school (grad student) and it works for me because I just need Google Chrome. My one wish is for it to be faster - once I have about 4+ tabs going I feel like it slows down a little. I try and keep it clean and not run more than 1 program but I am still looking for ways to totally optimize it's speed. I would have bought a computer with more RAM but my budget is pretty tight these days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I hope this Lenovo will serve me for a long time. This 14w Laptop gives me complete satisfaction. In addition, it is forth every penny of its low and discounted price. I wanted nothing fancy; just an efficient, not too slow, reliable tool I really need for my every day writing. The screen is not outlandishly large, but suffisamment clear and stable for my eyes which unfortunately are no longer too healthy. I hope the 14w will not let me down but will faithfully serve me for a long long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value for the Price With the SSD and 8GB of RAM this laptop can do anything I need it to do for my Day to Day use. My wife has also used it while taking classes. It's light, thin, and has a large, bright, screen that is easy on the eyes. The Lenovo utilities help keep everything up-to-date. I've only had it about a month, but no issues at all so far. My expectation is to get at least 3 years out of it.

However, I have found that when I am using the device, it can be a bit slow. While watching videos, the audio may not match up with what's displayed on the screen. I also wish that there was a light or something alerting me that my caps lock key is being used. That's why I gave it 3 stars-the speed of the computer does not match up with the design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sufficient as second machine Slower than I expected and trouble using the Lenovo update tools. The Bios update will not download. I didn't realize that it had no keyboard lighting or backlighting which is a drawback for me. The keyboard key profile is very low and not great to use. However, for the price, I am not complaining. This is a second machine for me to keep in my vacation home so it will suffice. My regular use machine cost me 5 times as much 2 years ago and was worth the price difference.

After setting up this machine to my preferences, making sure all updates were installed, as well as disabling some start up items and services, it's running rather smoothly. I didn't buy this machine with the intention of multi-tasking, so I'm not disappointed by it's power. It's the perfect machine for browsing the web, as well as watching some video. They keyboard is decently comfortable to type on as well, and the build quality is honestly amazing. Battery life is very impressive as well!

My budget was constraining so I stuck with this lower end model, but everything has been great. 4 stars out of 5 because it is much slower than my old X1 Carbon, but then again, what isn't slower than that?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't get the A6 version. Great build, too slow. For the last decade I've exclusively used Lenovo laptops and I will continue to do so. Build quality and screen were amazing, but don't get the low cost version that I got. It's essentially unusable as it can't handle basic tasks (YouTube videos strutter at 720p). Finally 64 GB of space isn't enough to run upgrades of win 10. I would imagine the i3 version is better, it's a shame about the processor as again it's one of the nicest built laptops out there.

Obviously for the given price point you cannot expect to have the top specs that other, more expensive laptops do, but for its price it is definitely worth it. It works really well with no issues for all of the browser and app needs of an average student. I am definitely very happy with the value of this laptop.
