It does OK, but at 58y it became laborious to operate as there wasn't enough rough to side by side and it was hard to see. My new LG has made my life easier. Multitasking, organizing, spreadsheets get work done. So much so I ordered a 34" LG monitor no longer

Recently though the monitor goes blank and makes a buzzing sound. I casually use my PC for a couple hours a week with sometimes weeks in between uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent image quality, performance and design! I bought this a while, 3 years ago, and I'm still in love with it! What a great, top edge performance LG has there! Image quality is superb and the 21:9 ultra-wide tech system is great! Sound speakers could be some way better, with improved surround system with greater bass also. For movies it lacks that tiny bit sound force feedback.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. Great design. The only things we have hd problems with is the ice machine sometimes get clogged and we hbd to clean it out and remove build up ice. But that's a problem all fridges have. The water and ice levers have started to leak tho. But we are trying to talk to the people to see if it's a warranty fixable issue. And the filters are expensive and need to be changed like twice a year. Hopefully so. But other than that great product!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value All in all I'm impressed with the monitor. The colors are great, it's nice and bright and easy to setup. One gripe is that the refresh rate is misleading. It only does 75hz when you set the monitor to a low resolution. At 2560x1080 it's only capable of 60hz. The last complaint I have is the stand offers no real flexibility and it's overall a tad short. Forcing the user to use a taller desk to have it more eye level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice and wide! consistent color I am not a gamer, but I do like alot of screen space, especially for my stock market chart program. This monitor gives me space for 4 more charts to be on the screen with the others. Still getting used to having to turn my head a little to the left or right to see everything. Last monitor was a 20 inch standard ratio. No fancy graphic card in my computer-i5 6500T with intel 530 graphics, refresh at 59hz and things look great. The software, on screen control , is a little wonky, but works well to easily set up your screen to split, full. etc. When the screen and computer are powered off, there is a subtle blinking of a light underneath the monitor, that may annoy someone, not me, not in room to see it. The stand is sturdy enough, non adjustable. For the price/features/quality/ its an awesome monitor. Happy with purchase, now 3-4 weeks into use.

But looking from side to side is hard on your eyes to work with. maybe gaming it would be better.

It occupies only 2/3 of the screen and there is black background on both side. Tried adjusting the screen resolution and it still does not work.

My main purchase desicion was the 99% RGB color space accuracy and the wide aspect ratio which is ideal to work with multiple windows, also the monitor's screen can be splitted with the included software in various configurations if you like to work with multiple windows. Very happy with this purchase.

I have it side by side with my other monitor. I can say its an great addition to my desk. I would have given it 5 stars but I can't get the display resolution to work properly. My screen seems stretched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from resolution I tried it with my old mbp 13" which has 2560x1600 external res. with full HD minidisplay to HDMI cable but I only see 1920x1080 res. I bought a 4k mini-display to HDMI cable if it does not work also I will try mini display port to display port but this monitor does have only HDMI ports. Maybe I have to try adaptors for that. I spent my 1 day for this mbp-cables-resolution etc really dont like this. Massive Lg co. could just give info about it or sell with them. What can I do a high tech ultra extra perfect monitor without the cables?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultrawide is amazing Since normal widescreen is typically just television programming (which I don't watch on the computer); but movies, programs, and most games work well in ultra-wide, I figured I would try it. It's amazing. I can have two windows up simultaneously for web browsing, and since it is still 'x1080' resolution I've seen very little impact to frames per second in games. It also works great at 75hz, but the only downside is it isn't native 75hz, so you will need to manually overclock it if you want to go over 60hz.

The utility is worth it and for those considering a 25" ultrawide like I was, you should get the 29" ultrawide if you work with three screens vertically. The response time is great and after using this I don't think I will go back to a non ultrawide.

The cable that came with it (HDMI-to-HDMI) didn't work with my MacAir but that was soon solved with a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable. The only downside so far is that it is not as stable (on the stand provided) as I would like though not a major downside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice monitor, when it works that is I purchased the original about sixteen months ago. Then last fall it started to flicker, REALLY flicker! It is intermittent, but I've put in back in it's box, store it in my closet. I'm going to call them tomorrow, but don't expect much help. I've been kicking around the LG 55" OLED, but given my experience with the 29UM58 causes me to wonder if LG just makes unreliable TV (and monitors).

It replaced two smaller displays which provided more viewing real estate than a single normal screen, but splitting a window across the two displays was unsatisfactory. Further, I could never get the color balance the same between the two displays. The single ultra wide display takes up less physical space than the two displays it replaces but provides at least as much (maybe more usable screen area. I worried initially that windows would choke on the large pixel width or that excessive fiddling with settings would be required for font sizes, make circles not be displayed as ovals, ..., but none of these things required any special consideration at all.

However, the monitor becomes useless after a couple of months because it flickers so poorly that you cannot actually look at it without getting a headache. It has become useless.

I sue it to simultaneously code and have all my tabs open. Ultrawide gaming takes you to the next level, but get the 34 inch 4k 144hz one. By far better.

I'm an online professor and artist who teaches 3D Modeling, Game Design and Motion Graphics and it works wonderfully. I also use it for my Xbox One when I'm rendering or need to blow off steam and it looks fantastic (provided you adjust the video settings specifically for it) Pros Clear picture, bright screen, lots of tweaks you can make to the screen. Cons Only HDMI inputs, no internal speaker just a 3.5mm speaker output (but volume can be controlled through app or menu of monitor)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Alright This ultra-wide monitor is alright for just day-to-day use, nothing over-the-top for it's price. I noticed how it was advertised as a 75hz refresh rate monitor, however this was not seen anywhere when adjusting the refresh rate through software (even with drivers installed). I managed to get this monitor to 75hz by creating a custom resolution. Don't expect overclocking this monitor anything higher than 75hz because I tried and had absolutely no luck after several hours of tuning it, either it gave me an "Out of Range" or "No Signal" message.

I'm able to work with 3 windows side by side. Unfortunately this is the second time I exchange the monitor and the speakers are still not working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for editing, good color I bought this almost a year ago and i love it. It being my first ultra-wide makes me never want to go back. Very good color, the menu is super easy to navigate, but i would say the only down side is that its only 60Hz and doesn't overclock very well maybe 65Hz before it starts flashing. Therese not really any light bleed like some monitors iv had in the past which is a positive. I bought it on a black Friday sale and couldn't of found a better ultra wide for the price. One other issue i wish i had is a display port plug in so when using VR i don't have to use a adapter sense my gpu has one HDMI and 3 display ports. This is very good for video editing and color correction but so so for gaming. At this time not a lot of games use 21:9 it just stretches the sides of the screen but not all that noticeable. Love the monitor, i would most definitely like to find a LG 34in ultra wide @ 1440p at 100Hz hopefully when the prices come down.

However its downfall is that it has volume control included with the monitor, but there are no speakers whatsoever on the monitor. Okay, that isn't a complete deal breaker most hook up speakers to their monitors anyway. What really got me was the monitor is advertised as 75hz. Which technically it is (in lower resolutions) not in native 2560×1080. To obtain the 75hz refresh rate at the native 2560×1080 resolution you have to overclock the monitor. Most considering a higher hz monitor are looking for a fps (frames per second) boost for gaming on games that use Vsync.

I really loved it, it's a great product, it has very great colors, if you play with the menu to accommodate both the contrast and the brightness you can have a better experience, I recommend for games to have the maximum contrast and brightness at 75% so that Do not disturb the eyes, and for normal use of the PC have 50% contrast and 25% brightness since prolonged use really tires the eyes a lot. In short it is a great product and I do not regret buying it bought it

Not having built-in audio speakers is very disappointing. Appears that it does but not until I talked with LG rep did I discover this. The monitor control panel displays audio VU meters, which makes it look like it does have built-in audio speakers. Summary: Great Video. No Audio!!!!

The one problem I’ve had is that if you use it with a gaming system, there doesn’t seem to be a way to get it to produce sound. There don’t seem to be any speakers or audio output jacks on the monitor, even though the monitor itself has a volume control. You can still get sound by plugging headphones into the game console, so there are workarounds. Regardless, I’m still very happy with this monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refresh Rate and Audio? For those who are looking for 75Hz, yes this monitor has 75Hz refresh rate but it is only applicable for some resolution like 1280x800. So, for 2560x1080 only 60Hz can be achieved. And as for the Audio, there is no speaker inside the monitor guys. This type of monitor is has its own jack at back because of the hdmi as we all know also transfers audio data. As if you want to connect your speaker beside your monitors it is more convenient to connect it rather than to connect it to your distanced computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Monitor! I'm using this as monitor for my cute MacBook Air and everything works great. Display is really crisp and FHD. Just be sure to use a good quality hdmi cable for connection to see a great resolution. Good job LG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Display, But No Audio Speakers I needed to get an external monitor to attach to a Windows computer and this looked like a great choice. I'm very happy with the video, but it turns out that this monitor does not have built-in audio speakers and that wasn't clear when reading about the monitor. Not having built-in audio speakers is very disappointing and it took a lot of research to determine that it didn't because the monitor control panel displays audio VU meters, which makes it look like it does have built-in audio speakers. So, you need to keep that in mind when considering this monitor. Summary: Great Video. No Audio.

Originally i wasn't looking for a wide flat screen, i wanted a wide curved screen, but I had seen this on the shelf at best buy and fell in love with the graphics granted I know graphics is mainly from video cards however this monitor really helped enhance the looks of games. I was skeptical when I brought it home thinking i was not going to like this. I plugged it in which was really simple, attached my ps3 and computer to it very easily. I love that with a flip of the switch i can go from ps3, back to my pc with ease to look up questions or manuals for games. I love this monitor especially with the location of my stand in my house.
