Too bad Otterbox does not make a clear Defender case for it. She says “the black case sucks Grandpa!” But I love the IPod. If you aren’t going to invest in multiple colors, and I would not. Why not make the Defender clear?

Regretted that I had encased it in a sleek case that offered little protection. Had to buy a new device, and this time also bought a sturdy Otterbox to keep it safe.

The attached screen on the case fit snuggly around my iPod and acted like a girdle holding the whole thing together. This happened to my other iPod as well, even though it is always handled carefully. I used a defender for that one over a year ago and it is still keeping it together. Thanks for the great products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made product I have used Otter Box products for quite some time. I have used this case for the better part of a month. Well made and attractive products. My main beef is that Otter Box does not produce all of their products in North America. (almost certain my case was made overseas) I would prefer to pay another $10-20 for a product made in a country with good worker and environmental protections. This is a premium product with a premium price, the price I do not dispute, but it would be nice if it was made stateside. That said, the quality of the case is excellent. Good protection for when I drop things. The screen protector is not very good. It is loose and you have to push pretty hard for positive contact. Since I have big thumbs it is already a bit difficult to get the right button on the screen and the cover does not help. I plant to remove the Otter Box integrated screen protector and replace it with another product. I am happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works, but buttons are too stiff I bought one of these years ago for my iPod 6th gen. I liked it so much I bought another when I recently got my iPod 7th gen. It works. Serves the purpose of protecting my device. Issue is I literally have to dig into the volume and power buttons with my fingernail to get them to work. Just something to keep in mind when buying this product.

I got my kids 7th gen iPods and needed something durable to survive tantrums and wildness of my crazy boys and the options are very limited. I appreciate the covers for the ports. My only complaint is that the plastic part of the case covers half of the home button so it’s very difficult to press-they need help every time and it’s difficult for my husband and I too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok purchase I ordered a new Otter Box for my new Ipod as I had one on my old Ipod and I loved it. When it arrived I unwrapped it and assembled it on the new Ipod. The screensaver is just slightly too big for the actual box and when assembled it buckles in the middle making it very annoying to try to use the touch screen. Also, the strap for it would not feed through the hole provided on the case. The weaved covering over the actual filament line inside the loop string kept tearing when I tried to feed it through no matter how I tried to do it. As happy as I was with my first couple of Otter Boxes I have owned, this one has been equally as disappointing.

I've dropped it once already but it was fine because of the Otterbox case. The design is great because it fits in my pocket but I can still use it easily like plugging in headphone and charger. Since buying it, my school buddies have really checked the way it looks after my Ipod and want one one themselves. Its awesome value for students like us. Cheers, Nash. :)

I had gotten an OtterBox for my iPad quite recently, and it was great, performing well, good quality, etc., so I though that it was completely logical to get one for my new iPod touch. Boy was I surprised. I love the protection, as I am a bit careless, so it has weathered the hurricane pretty well. The design is pretty good, but I did have an issue while playing graphics intensive games and my ipod would heat up, which would melt the glue holding the memory foam to the inner back plastic. But the big issue I have is quality. I had had it for about three months, and the outside rubber (why didn't they use the same silicone that I have on the iPad case?) was seriously wearing away, and the port flaps were seriously eaten down. The plastic covering the screen never actually fit completely to the screen, little rainbow things of moisture appeared. But the thing that made up for that was the customer service. They were very prompt, and sent me a new case for no money and the shipping was THREE DAYS before they thought. I would have gotten the Lifeproof fre, but I saw an unboxing, and apparently, the cover isn't reusable, so I was swayed by the otterbox. I would probably recommend this to another person.

The ipod has ports close together so the separators break off leaving the bottom unsecured. While advertised as dust resistant, it isn't very tight that way. It will keep pocket lint out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product with 1 minor flaw! As always a very sturdy and durable case. My family and I only trust otter box cases on our phones and tablets. The only problem that I have found with this case is that we are unable to use a regular car charger to charge the I pod. The spot that you open on the case for the charging port is not wide enough to hook up to the device. As I have had several I phones and other phones with otter boxes on them, I have never had this happen before. But overall a great product as long as your device is charged before leaving home.

(If you have any installation questions, youtube has installation videos that are very helpful. Of special note, the screen protector on the front gives excellent touch sensitivity. When using the touch screen with the Otterbox, my iPod immediately and always senses my touch and responds exactly as it should. The Otterbox front cover that protects the screen does not interfere with the touch response in the least. With the Otterbox case, I feel secure knowing my iPod 5 is well protected should I drop it, and I like knowing that the screen sensitivity/reactivity is not affected by the Otterbox. Thanks for a great product. I regularly recommend Otterbox to friends and family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Case for iPod TOuch 6 There are way fewer cases for iPod Touches on the market than for iPhones, so my choice was limited. I chose an Otterbox case because it was recommended by a friend. I have 3 observations: 1. Very slow delivery -- 9 days. I could have driven from the West Coast (US to Colorado, picked it up, and driven back home, and still have had a 3-day weekend. 2. The On switch at top right needs to be pushed quite hard and just right to turn the iPod on. Hope this improves with use. 3. The wrist strap is a wonderful feature. I don't plan on dropping my iPod, but if I am using the wrist strap, it won't hit the ground. The wrist strap could also loop around a belt and still be put in a pocket.

The case is very durable and I have never had to worry about damaging my phone or IPod if it falls. Good quality and durable product. The variety of colors are good too but it would be nice to have more choices. Overall, I would only recommend Otterbox! The product is A+!

The recent case I received was a replacement for a defective case with a warped frame allowing debris to get underneath the screen protector... The new case I received didn't have this flaw, however... The screen protector isn't flush with the screen, making it extremely difficult to operate my device, I'm mostly happy with the case but unable to use it. I am back to using my original defective case. I wish Otterbox would just send a screen protector separately so I'd have to choice to pop out the built-in screen protector if need be and still be able to use the product fully.

Even the touch screen requires a little force. These malefactors aside, I do love the case and would recommend one to a friend. I may turn to DIY techniques to modify my case so as to make the buttons easier to press.

However, no amount of cleaning could keep the screen protector layer from "sticking" the the iPod screen. I went to great lengths to make sure the iPod screen was spotless, as well as the inside of the case screen, but with no success. Any ideas?

I think partly due to it's size and partly due to it's slippery feel. Both of which this case has taken care of, it feels much more secure in my hands now with this case. If you have big hands or just find the iPod too slippery without a case this is the case for you.

He had seriously damaged and older ipod and I knew if we were going to get him another one I wanted it to have protection. He loves the case, especially the color. It was easy to install and he says the protective screen works well for him, it doesn't seem to cause problems when swiping or touching buttons.

My husband and I both have them for our phones adn know that they will live up to the lively lifestyle of an 8 and 10 year old. We are very happy with our purchases. There are a few little things that I would change. The sticky screen protector for my phone is gone. It peeled up and I just took it off. And my daughters has a funny colouring behind it. I have had an Otterbox on every device that I have had in which there was an Otterbox available for. I have tried other cases and I always find myself running back to this brand. It is great for my daily use. This is a great case for anybody that would like to keep there device like new from the day they buy it until the day they no longer use it. The three piece design is fabulous, if I drop my device I don't even think twice that it will have any harm. I love the fact that it has a built In screen protector as well. Customer service is AMAZING. I cannot express enough how great customer care is, that is another key reason that I continue to use their product. I truly believe that this case is the biggest bang for your buck. It does not add a whole lot of thickness to your device like they have in the past. Every time I buy a case, the product seems to get better and better, even when you think that they cant. I would definitely recommend this case to a friend.

I wish I bought it before because I know this wouldn't have happened. When you buy an IPOD or IPHONE buy an otterbox immediately or else you risk breaking apple's delicate little devices. Thanks otterbox for making a good case, just wish the price was a bit less. It's a bit much for a case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish there was 4.5 I bought this a couple weeks ago for my new iPod 5g and I immediately LOVED it, you can tell by how it feels in your hand, how it's built, and the good company ratings that this is a very well built and reliable case. Now after hearing all this you may be wondering "if he thinks it's so great why is it a 4 star rating?" Well let me answer that question right now. The only downsides to this case are: the screen protectors just the tiniest bit way away from the screen so you'll have to tap just a little bit harder, the buttons on the sides and top for volume are a little rough to push, I completely threw this away once I remembered that this case was for protection, same thing with the home button... Overall fantastic case, sorry for the poor grammar.

Some do not have a screen protector either. Otterbox cases cost more, but you get what you pay for. I highly recommend this case. My teen loves it! The protection is great. The covered areas for inputs are great for keeping out moisture & dust, but offer easy access when you need to use them. The one thing I do not care for, is how hard it is to get the case off of the ipod, putting it back on is easy. Luckily she only needs to remove the case to charge her ipod.

It doesn't feel cheap, the overall look of the product is a step above the competition, and you feel safe carrying your iPod around. The reason that I decided to even write a review, was the lack of instructions. I had a hard time disassembling this case to get my iPod in. I don't have long fingernails (I'm a dude), and I had a hard time opening the hard plastic inside. Also the product comes with absolutely no instructions. However, this product is a MUST BUY for all iPod users. Seriously, just click the "add to cart" button. You know you want to.

Now he's in college and he must have liked it, because he asked for a replacement almost two years from the day he got the first one. I thought it was because he didn't like the color of the one I had chosen (my idea of theft deterrent, but when he removed the old one to use the second one, I could see why he wanted another. It was trashed. He carries his iPod in his pants pocket 24/7. I have witnessed it getting dropped on tile floors and concrete. The iPod looks like new and and works like the day it came out of the box.

I have dropped it many times and it has even been thrown at a ceiling fan and hit by it. The case has protected my iPod miraculously over the last three years.

I have used Otterbox cases for Ipads and I phones for several years- drop my phone All the time with its defender case on and NEVER had a crack or ANY problem. Also, the case stays looking new. It never looks worn. It doesn't crack or peel or rip. Now, No every device in our family HAS to have an OTTERBOX case!

I recently upgraded to a new phone and took my old phone out of the Otterbox for inspection. My old phone is pristine! No scratches or blemishes. I immediately put a new Otterbox on my new phone. I expect my new phone will look just as good as my old phone in another 3 years.

Because it’s an Otterbox, you can count on a perfect fit—and the best protection you can get. We live in a time when our mobile devices are pricey. It’s nothing for a cell phone to cost $800 or more, and devices like my iPod Touch aren’t cheap. An Otterbox is good cheap insurance for all your mobile devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Case! I got my Otterbox case in the mail today. Delivery was pretty quick. The package was nice-looking and easy to open. From the first feel, it felt nice. The instructions were easy to follow, but taking apart the case was a little hard, but that just means that it won't fall apart on you at any point. The ipod fits snug in the case and it seems to be nicely protected. The strap that comes with it is way better than the original ipod strap. The only small problem is that the buttons are a little hard to press, but I think over time, it will get easier. It is also very comfortable hold. It makes the ipod a little easier to hold than without a case, because without the case, it was too slim and kept falling out of my hands. Overall, it's a great case and it looks great too!

She wanted one of those "fancy cases" but I told her she needed the OtterBox if she wanted to use it with friends or take it out of the house. I have one for my i-phone, and I told her remember when I dropped my phone in the garage?? Nothing happened and that if her's breaks, she will pay for it out of her money. Needless to say the thing has been dropped twice already (once by one of her friends and it's still here. She agrees that it's the best case ever.

The IPod Touch 5th gen. case is designed very well for protection but the screen protector needs some work & redesign. Once I put the case on it's perfect, but everyday use of the device is where the problem comes in. The screen protector has a bubble in it, no matter how many times I take the case off and put it on I get the same result. The bubble affect causes me hit the screen multiple times to operate my device. I will continue using Otterbox products, keep up the good work! This is why I can only this device 4 stars !!!

I am "actively" retired, and so far it has stood up to sweat, dust and being dropped multiple times. While it is not designed to be water proof it is built well and is provides reasonable resistance to the elements. When I go hunting, I can slip it into a zip lock bag and/or put it in a jacket pocket in rain or snow. In short it is a great choice for a reasonable price.

I had gotten my son the defender for his ipod 4 and have no problems with this case/buttons at all (which is why I sent for the new defender for my ipod 5). Case also too hard to open (drag for switches to dock).

I even dropped the phone in a snowbank in a storm for 2 hours until it was finally located - initially cold, but still working. We couldn't find iPod Otterboxes locally and ordered 2 for our teenagers because this is the lowest profile (well made) case we could find. They would never use a case before this, but both used the cases immediately given the "cool" and low-profile (not bulky) styling. We are really impressed - totally worth the investment.

I bought this to replace a cover made by lifeproof that had the problem that it was not sealed so I had to keep taking the cover off to clean the Ipod as the case did not cover it all the way. So after the drop/scratch protection the other thing I bought it was to keep it dust free (which it has. So it is a great product.

To no doubt, the harder plastic shell cracked in no time and the silicone part is becoming stretched out and too loose.

Would have liked the color of the front and sides to also be on the back instead of the black color on the back. The silicon is fraying at the edges, and tearing near the inputs and home button from me removing the case to clean my device because of the dirt and dust that gets through. That is the same reason why one of the latches on the hardshell has snapped. Also, somehow the actual screen protector got scratched, and it wan't as if I was playing the nails or anything like of the such. This is a very good case if you like throwing your things at walls and dropping them from heights, but other than that, this case is garbage.

It was easy to install and seems durable though we have not had any tests of it. It does have an integral screen protector which I thought was key for little fingers. Cons: She does say it's harder to push the on/off and volume buttons with the case. Also it would have been nice to have a few more color choices that would appeal to kids. She got the purple and pink but would have liked brighter, younger options.

I found it in the Otterbox site and bought online. It is a great sturdy that has already lived to its expectations. The only rock in my shoe is that the buttons are a little stiff and unresponsive, but given the protection it provides, I'm happy with it.

My itouch had been missing for three days. It finally turned up outside in my backyard. Two of those days it had rained and just sunny the third. There was no damage to the itouch and still had a charge. I highly recommend this product.

I used to put my iPod in the 'pocket' of my dash as I drove, and with no case, it would often come out of the pocket (unplugging itself on the way as I would accelerate from a stop. I've used this case on my first gen iPod touch so I figured the rubber coating would help it 'grip' the dash pocket and not become a projectile at every stop sign or light. As with all Otter Box cases I use, I removed the clear screen protector before putting it on my iPod (I use it for drop protection, not scratch protection). IF YOU ARE ROUGH ON YOUR IPOD - DON'T DO THAT! Case fits great, took all of about 30 seconds to put it on. The rubber outer layer fits tight on the openings, so water/dust resistance will be really good. My only 'complaint' (if you can call it that) is that the hard plastic around the headphone port is thick enough that my Dre Beats headphone jack (a 90degree plug) can only face perpendicular or to the "left" when plugged in...twisting it to the right pulls it out of the jack. Perpendicular or to the left makes it hard to put in a pocket without putting strain on the headphone cord. For future models, if they could make the bottom plastic just a millimeter thinner this would be resolved. Other than that, this case is awesome.

Kids have dropped it, sat on it, kicked it, thrown it and splashed it and still its going strong. Although its not actually water proof it still protects the ipod from a little bit of water. Based on this we brought one for the 7 year olds new ipod. Love you otter cases, we have them for iphones, ipad, and ipod touches. All our gadgets although old are still like new. Some are seven years old and still going strong. Have looked at some of the cheaper options but they don't last as long. Otter cases last forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broke within a year of purchasing I bought this about 9 months ago, and by 6 months, the plastic on the inside had cracked without any dropping over 3 feet. The plastic of the screen has come off. I have been very careful with it and it has not gone through any vigorous ordeals. I am very disappointed, as I was excited about the Drop Protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't Live Up to Expectations This is a good case and does protect the iPod from drops. The case fully protects it, but doesn't do everything it is advertised to. It is supposed to be dust proof, but dirt gets inside all the time and I have to clean it out by taking the entire case off. A small rock even got inside and made a big scratch in the iPod's shell. Three of the clips that hold the case together broke, too. Also, the screen protector scratches easily. I have only had this case for 3 months. This isn't what I expected from OtterBox.

The device gets harsh treatment throughout the day and without the Defender it would be trash by now. Highly Recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I bought an Otterbox case for my iPod a year ago. After a while of hard use, it developed a crack in the plastic on the bottom left corner under the screen. Other than that, it was great. I dropped it countless times and it performed perfectly. When I discovered the crack, I simply told Otterbox through their warranty program and was given a new case without a single hesitation. In my opinion, the warranty/ customer service is superior to most any other company! (Not to downplay the case any...) I would definitely recommend this case to anyone.

Some Miner Flaws- Not very dust resistant have to clean it out often very annoying. Mine broke not bad at all just the back screen protector and a small crack. But they gave me a knew one so its all good. Great things to note- There little Hand Strap is very useful (so happy they put it on the OtterBox) The Case is very tight to the iPod for very little slippage. I would suggest this Case to any one with an iPod 5

For five years, the case saved the iPod from daily use -- protected the screen from scratches, the device from the occasional fall, and, most importantly, saved the device from the harsh environment of my back pocket. Anyway, for five years that was the case. A few months ago, the case broke (but, the case did its job for five years: the iPod itself was fine), and I got a new iPod 5. Of course I ordered a new Defender case for it, because I knew how the last one had performed. I have only had the case for about two weeks, but it seems to be another flawless addition to the protection of the device. Way to be! I like the color options (I went with "Glacier," which looks very slick on the iPod). Years from now, when I decide to "Up" my iPod, I will look for a third Otterbox case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highest quality - AS EXPECTED from Otterbox This is what a case should be. It's a perfect fit and feels sturdy. I now use my iPod Touch 5th Gen as a camera, a music video player, to go online, to send messages, write memos, for a kitchen timer, world clock, games and apps, and loads of other things, all in one, with guaranteed peace of mind against drops and scratches. The only gripe I have is as expected. The lightning port connector (you use this to charge and transfer files) area needs frequent access so they need to make that rubber area a lot more flexible and a little softer for easy daily removal of the hinge insert. This will wear out over time I am sure. The engineering department should have known about this as it is the fifth generation and they have years of development experience. Other than that, the case is perfect.

They get high marks for that, but the replacement one cracked at the exact same place several weeks later. I just glued it myself this time as it is obviously a design/manufacturing flaw.

There always seems to be a air gap between the clear otterbox protector on both covers we purchased and it affects the use of touch screen. I've removed this clear protector on iPod 5's but then it's always a pain to keep debris from under the cover of frame, and you end up pulling the otterbox apart to clean things up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love Otter Box! I have an Otter Box shell for my iPhone, iPad, and Ipod. I highly recommend the devices for all three units. Although they are a bit bulky, the protection they provide is well worth their size. I use my devices daily, and find no issues whatsoever, although it takes a little getting used to the extra pressure needed to use the buttons on the devices. I have had no unintentional "butt dials" or other unintended button activation, due to the protection the Otter Box shells provide. The expense of the units may seem high but the quality of the shells is excellent, and well worth the expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protects the iPod This is my third Otterbox for iPod Touch. It has protected my iPod numerous times though the plastic frame usually breaks at one of the four corners. Maybe if the plastic on the vertical sides were beefed up a little, perhaps it wouldn’t easily crack where it meets the upper and lower corners. My only real complaint with the design is in the very little plastic connector parts that encase the iPod. I do more damage to the connecting areas trying to take the iPod out to clean interior screen of Otterbox case and replacing it. I wouldn’t mind carrying a slightly improved case knowing my iPod is secure and the case is easily removed and replaced without having parts possibly breaking. Overall, I’m reasonably happy with the product. I must be if I keep buying it. I would easily give it 5 stars if it had a few improvements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great...until it breaks this is the third otterbox I have gotten. the first one was last summer, then in dec and now again, in April. in all three, the same area has broken. at the bottom, were the ports are closed off, one of the green pugs keeps snapping, so dirt and dust some into the whole. When the case works it's great , I have dropped it a lot of times, and it keeps in in great shape, but that one piece always breaks. I get the Navy blue and green colored one.

Not too dark and not too bright. I easily put it all together with no issues...so far the quality is up to par with the reviews that I read. I was also lucky enough to receive a "Dry Box" with my purchase, I chose yellow, the color is true to the picture however it is a bit dull and wish it were a brighter yellow. Overall I am pleased with my purchases and am looking forward to see how the products hold up! Thanks OtterBox!

This version for my itouch 5th generation I like except for the fact that the screen protector doesn't sit flush with the screen making it difficult to swipe. Had to use sandpaper on the inside edges to get it to fit better. Didn't have that problem with my other one.

I wish it were a little easier to open the case and retrieve the iPod, but I suppose that's probably the point. My goal is to have the iPod and case last at least 7-8 years. I think the case will survive longer than the iPod.

I have already had to replace mins and there relacement process is quick and easy. The only thing I would like to see different is the plastic screen protector. I think it should conform closer to the screen, I notice that when im typing that it feels like there is a little gap between screen and ipod. But other than that perfect to protect your valuable piece of equipment

Unlike other simple snap-on rubberized cases in the same price range which rely on color or texture patterns to sell the item, this case focuses on layers of protection and functionality. Inside the OB case my 5th gen iPod Touch works exactly as it does out... all buttons are perfectly positioned, the dirt tabs for the earphones and thunderbolt connection are easy to open and do their job, and the touch screen shield gives that extra protection with easy touch functioning. What I like best is the 2 layer protection concept. The hard plastic inside case perfectly locks the Touch in place... no slop, no wiggle. The rubber outside case provides the shock absorption plus protection from the elements. It's not a waterproof case, which I very much would like to see in the future, but for say normal teenage abuse, this case should give your electronic device life until the end of its obsolescence cycle. Just don't drop it in the toilet or pool. Be sure to watch the video for initial installation as the first time is a little tricky.

Soil particles scratching my Defender screen (sans protector) to the point of irritation for normal viewing. As a daily practicer of complaining, I notified the Otter folks for a simple screen replacement; they insisted that they simply replace the whole thing! Sent instructions that anyone could follow, I now have a new Defender around my Precious, now sporting a screen protector as well. Being especially clumsy I now am waiting for one to arrive for my IPad since it is more often used. Thanks, Otter folks

They’ll be sorry when they read this… THE GOOD: Two Defender cases provide more protection than I need, except when I drop my iPhone or iPod or a dog's nose knocks them off the table; then, they're well worth the price and sore fingers. My iPod never leaves the house; it remains inside ensconced in the bottom half of the Defender case; the top half abandoned long ago. My iPhone's Defender – top and bottom – is always with me when I'm outside. All that is GOOD. Worth the price and sore fingers. THE BAD: Difficulty achieving an effect when pressing Volume and On-Off Buttons through either Defender case makes me wonder if I did something wrong when I installed them. I hoped a "breaking in" period would alleviate this difficulty; not so. I feel contemptibly inept each time I try to press the buttons. My fingers were sore for two days (no guitar playing) due to the difficulty of inserting the iPhone/iPod into the bottom of their cases; difficulty pressing the buttons reminds me of this often enough to lower a five-star rating to a four. Love the case; feel like someone's playing a joke on me each time I try to press or press-and-hold a button.

Its compact, comfortable to handle, and buttons are easy accessible. The Outter Box is a safety box even when it's dropped. There is no breakable parts. Love its color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from needs a few changes This item is not a perfect fit for the 7th gen ipod touch. The on/off button is really hard to use. The button sits lower than the older generations. There is a hole on the top beside the on/off button that doesn't match anything on the 7th gen. The plastic that protects the screen doesn't lay flat and rises above the screen. I think they call this doming. There is still not a better product on the market, but Otterbox, you could do better!

The iPod did turn off once it hit the floor and it was not very high . I had to restart my iPod after. Do I am saying the otter box does not absorb all the shock from the floor drop.

Came with out instuctions, really really hard to take off, dirt somehow gets in to the case, the silicone skin loosens up and doesn't fit interior shell, screen protecter is now covered in stuff that is not removable. It gives great protection and it looks really nice but its not perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Case that's Ready for Life This is a great case for an iPod touch 5th Gen, I have 2, Punk and Glacier and they are both extremely durable and protective and the loop is a nice touch as well, the only thing that hinders this product is that the touch screen rarely becomes unresponsive. My punk case (Which I've had for well over a year) is starting to show minimal wear from me being clumsy and dropping my iPod so much, the Glacier for my newer iPod is great and durable and hardly ever drop it, so it shows absolutely no wear and my iPod has not been unresponsive once, and this is the king of all iPhone cases and a great price for the durability and technology of the case. Pros: Durable, Protective against about any force of nature, and a great look, design, and bulkiness Cons: Screen Protector (for me) tends to be of low quality and needs constant cleaning, for this reason I have Purchased a better screen protector and I rarely ever have to clean it, and, for some reason, the touch screen will very rarely become unresponsive, and honestly, I should probably give this review 3 stars as my iPod became completely unresponsive for over 15 minutes and absolutely nothing worked (Sadly, this happened with in the first 30 minutes of owning a brand new iPod (My first iPod 5) and a brand new case (The Punk)) But other than that, a great case that can be utilized for natures worst (Neither iPods were or are not cracked to date, as I did lose my first iPod)

I feel a lot more secure having it on my new ipod. Only con is I wish it was water proof but I still love it and would highly recommend this product.

But other than that love it! Color is great too!!

Otterbox Defender with holster is for me the no-brainer, hands down winner of the contest. It's not over-bulky, goes in and out of the holster easily (allow a day or two to get the feel of it), has super grip, comes off the phone real easy once you know how to do it, and the price is right. Sure, it's not waterproof but I don't need it to be. I have found waterproof membranes over Touch ID to be very picky about when they read your fingerprint and that's not an issue with the Defender.

The only thing I don't love about it is the opening around the headphone jack. It is not quite big enough for some auxiliary chords, which makes listening to music difficult sometimes. But otherwise, I think it is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable case This is a very durable case and great protection for the iPod. I wish there were more "girly" colors as the only choice is really the purple. The wrist strap is a nice feature. A couple of things I don't like are that the hard plastic case is extremely difficulty to remove (much harder to do than on my iPhone 4) and I also had the same problem another reviewer had w/ the spots on the screen once the case is on. I called Otterbox was told to use a dryer sheet to help absorb moisture but this hasn't worked well. Finally, if there was a way to make these cases dockable that would be great - it's impossible to use on the docking stations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rainbow blob I just received an Otter Box defender series case, and no more than 24 hours later, I had to remove it so that I could clean the screen.screen protector to get rid of a unsightly rainbow spot beneath. I've barely had the case more than a month, and I've spent more time trying to get rid of the spots. I heard great reviews about this case, and those persuaded me to get this case over other brands. And to boot, one of the clips snapped, so the case does not seal completely.

It works great while i'm indoors, however, when I am outside I think humidity gets trapped in between the screen and the screen protector and so the touch screen is rendered basically useless under these conditions. i'll tap the screen in one spot but something else will open. very frustrating

Having paid for many replacement screens on iPads and Phones, I decided to search for a better alternative. She loves it, and enjoyed being able to choose the colours. Both my wife and I have a Defender for our Samsung phones and it is by far the best case available. I recently dropped my phone and it bounced hard on 3 corners on a bitumen surface. NO damage whatsoever, not even a scratch on the case. As far as service goes, I ordered my daughter's Defender on a Sunday and received it on Thursday i.e. 4 days and we live in regional Australia. Lucky to get something from Sydney in 4 days (only 80 miles away!!! Absolutely brilliant service and product.

This is due to the following factors: -It is sleek -It is attractive -It is lightweight Because of these factors, the case does not seem to take much or anything away from the "sexy" of the iPod touch without the case. However... If you are currently using an adhesive screen protector (such as InvisibleSHIELD with your iPod touch, and are planning to buy this case, I would STRONGLY recommend that you remove it before putting on the case. I say this because if you press to hard on OtterBox's built-in screen protector, it will "stick" to the adhesive screen protector, leaving an extremely ugly effect of your iPod display. However, this can be fixed by disassembling the case, then putting it back together again. The only other thing that I would complain about is the price of this case. However if money is not an issue for you, then I would say that this case is almost considered a "must have".

It'd be nice too if the company offered it's separate parts for sale. this is my second one by the way. bought another because the current rubber housing is not that good anymore. would have preferred the "LP" one but the site doesn't except an overseas-sale-with-local-shipping setup. So i had to make do. The products nice... but it could be better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST protective case evah! This case stands up to quite a bit of abuse. I tend to be rough on things, so I thought a durable case would be in order for my iPod Touch. The case for the Touch 5 is even better than the Defender case for the Touch 4 as it has separate rubber seal flaps for the charger cord and the headphone cord. It is NOT waterproof, which is why I went from the Touch 4 to the Touch 5. I keep my new Touch in a plastic zip seal freezer bag to help waterproof it. Overall, when I took my damp Touch 4 to my computer consultant, he was impressed, saying, "she's even got an OtterBox!" despite the fact that I was bringing it to him because it got wet. (He let it air dry out for a weekend, and it should be fine for about a year.

The only complaint we have is that pressing the home button requires quite a bit more effort than before the case was installed. While this is no particular problem for me, my wife has a problem with it due to her arthritis. A work-around she uses is to open the part of the case (flap) that covers the home button. This seems to work fine and I feel that is does not detract significantly from the protection provided by the Otterbox. I would highly recommend the case.

No need to worry about drops with the handstrap that gibed that extra measue of Comfort. The keys to the iTouch 6 are easily accessible and the seals to the charge cable and headphone are heavy duty. Also makes it easier to carry in my pocket as it provides some resistance to sliding out, which the iPod would do without the Otterbox. Only issue is the clear plastic screen cover--it does not fit snuggly against the screen and therefore the touch screen does not always respond as it should. I don't consider this a big issue, but more of an occasional inconvenience. Overall a great product.

Guess what! YES!!! It DOES fit the 6th generation. Now that we have THAT out of the way... This is for my daughter's iPod Touch. The fit is excellent. She loves the color! I'm happy because I know that the money I spent on her Touch is receiving ample protection (this is NOT my first Otterbox. I'm a Firefighter/EMT, and Otterbox protected my phone very well.). I can't count how many times the defender series case has saved my phone/tablet and now my iPod touch. Not only the device itself but the deductible for a replacement and all of the time and inconvenience having to set up the new phone. It wouldn't fit correctly and once we finally got it on it still wasn't quite right. I bought this case instead and it went on in a snap and is also easily removeable in case we need to clean it etc. LOVE it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection - can't plug in It protects very well. The color is great. The wrist band is very functional. The issue is plugging it in to a speaker. I teach Zumba and Yoga so I use an I-Pod for my music. I have to take it completely out of the case to use the plug it at the gymns that I teach at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant i-Touch case A very sturdy case, it was purchased for my 3 year old's i-touch. Four years ago I purchased a Defender case for my daughters i-touch and it is still going strong. This version has an improved protection near the charging port (very similar to the lifeproof case) as it clicks shut. The hard plastic exterior feels much more durable than the previous models. I am impressed with the home button rubber seal, great protection. It was easy to put onto the i-touch and the colour is great, very versatile. Would highly recommend the defender case as this is my 3rd purchase (all my children now have one & all their i-touches are in perfect condition).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good, not great. Ive had this case on my ipod for about 1 month and a half and I've gradually noticed that the material around the speaker port seems to be wearing very fast. The rubber like case is peeling around the hole were it doesn't anywhere else. I've had to take a my facial hair shaver to it to smooth it out again. Being a perfectionist it really annoys me why it does it in the first place. Other than that the other ports collect a lot of dust even though they are blocked off. I have to take the case off once a week to clean it out which is mostly a hassle because it takes a long time to take off, clean the device, clean both parts of the case and get it back on before more dust sticks to either the screen or the screen protector. In the future I may end up going with just a regular case and screen shield.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great protection this otter box protected my itouch greatly, expecally when i work i can have it in my pocket and not worry make sure you use a 2nd screen protector under due to dust gathering quickly otherwise it will scratch and mess up. for some reason there is a hole that not even the tech support knows about what its for on the top next ot the power button.

Basically everyone tell me that my phone is big...iPhone 6s Plus, because of the otterbox, then they whip out thier phone and its in some horrible worthless case and the screen looks like it will shred fingers because of the worthless case and being dropped, I dont drop my phone on purpose, but if I do drop it 4-5 times in the last year, I brush it off and keep using it...no cracked screen, the case slides in and out of the poclet very easy, its my 3rd phone with the Defender case, never had a phone mess up, crack, break, whatever...oh, and when I get the new phone, my old one looks like brand new so I get top dollar on ther trade...

The otter box was a wonderful fix. That iPod lasted another 2 years due to the durability of the otterbox. So this year when she got the iPod 5 it was essential that she have the otterbox before she opened the box. Thank you for making such a great product, keep up the great work! I wish they made otter boxes for boo boo kids!

So, I decided to give Otterbox a shot at protecting my second I Pod Touch, after the first one's screen was shattered mysteriously. I've recently dropped my cell phone twice and it has sustained no damage whatsoever. Hopefully, but I doubt it, I won't be dropping my iPod! But just in case, it has an Otterbox Defender around it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection for Ipod Gen 5 The OtterBox protects from dust and shock very well. Wish it was sealed better to prevent moisture from getting in, but this would probably cause problems with the internal speaker in the Ipod. Overall a great investment to protect my Ipod.

Easy to put on, you have to push on the screen a little more, but I think that will get better once it has a little use on it. I like the slim design of this one compared to all the other name brand cases we have purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best case ever This was the first case I got for my I Pod Touch 5th generation. It works the best! The Otter Box Defender Series is a great case. It has drop, shock, dirt, and other great protections! The only downside to this case is that there is a tiny gap between the screen protector and the outer case itself. At first this was really complicated. Trying to use the touch screen was very difficult at first. But after a while, I didn't have any problems. (That was because I was pressing down a little harder to get it to work. The trick is that when you use it, you have to press a little harder to get it to work. The other parts of the case like the button coverings are a little hard to press sometimes. On one of the reviews I read, the button coverings (like the home button might come off) will come off if you don't go easy on it. Like don't pull back the charger covering or else it will eventually snap off! There is also one more thing about the button coverings. On the power button, it is a little difficult to hold down to power off. Other then that, everything else is perfect beyond compare!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the case but I had been using a dock adaptor to dock my itouch 5 on my 30 pin alarm clock. I bought Apples lightening adaptor so I could do this, but now with the otter box case the adaptor will no longer fit, so if I use the case I can not use the alarm clock or sound bar, so not real happy about that. Now I will have to buy the 30 pin to 8 pin cord and its only like 5 inches long, so not sure that will even work. So if you want to dock it, then the otter box is not the case for you. Also there is a slight flaw in the part that covers the screen, a smudge that won't come off and around the edge on one side, something like a scratch, both are annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good I bought this per recommendation by a relative who raved about Otterbox (said someone they knew accidentally dropped their iPod while in an Otterbox which fell pretty hard but no damage). So far, I have no complaints. It seems durable enough and while I haven't dropped it myself which would be the true test of durability, I can vouch that the customer service is stellar. When my Otterbox case arrived, it had a very small defect on the cover so I contacted customer service, went through the return process, and within a week received a replacement. I've had it just over 3 months and have no complaints.

What I like about it the most is that I have a piece of mind that my Ipod touch has superior protection than all the other ipod touch cases out there and love how the “punk” version of this case looks!
