Rated 5 out of 5 byTM from Great product IF you don't mind the noise.It does what a UPS is supposed to do, however the cooling fan runs 24/7/365 and is very distracting in a quiet environment.. It seems the fan should only run when it is working, not when the batteries are charged and the unit is in "standby" mode... It may just be me but I am looking for something quieter..

Rated 5 out of 5 byrigurat from Perfect for home useAt the time of purchase, this product was the most affordable, double conversion UPS on the market that was not a rack mount unit. This product is of high quality build with good performance to match. Output power is very clean and consistent. Of course as with other double conversion UPS, the cooling fans on this device is rather loud, and they run at all times, even if the load is powered off, and even if the UPS is powered off. They can only be shutoff if the UPS is powered off and unplugged. The noise level is similar to an old desktop PC running.

The overwhelming popularity of those "so Called" UPS that switches to battery on power outage, boggled my mind. Yes they are inexpensive but dont always work. I needed to upgrade to a larger capacity unit for a small server room and chose this 1.5KW unit. It has served flawlessly since December, 2012. It is used to power the servers, PBX, Network switches etc. in a chemical plant. Once a month they test their half megawatt generator hence the UPS gets tested as well. Through 15 years the previous model never failed and warned when to change batteries and I anticipate the same from this unit. The best devices are the ones you never think about and just works!

Rated 5 out of 5 byCasey from Much better buy than APCI've got Tripplite & APC battery back-ups and the Tripplite has outperformed the APC units for easy installation and battery life. On top of that, it was less expensive for a comparable APC unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 bywoodard from SmartOnline SU1500XL saved our baconWe have had the SU1500XL and one external battery back (BP48v24-2U) for about 18 months powering our main server and a backup server. Last week the sub-station powering our neighborhood had a failure, and we were in the dark for about 75 minutes. After about 30 minutes of darkness, I manually shut down our servers. We had no problems. We might have been able to bridge the entire power outage, but we shut down because the power company told us it could last up to 3 hours.

Does not discharge when my emergency standby generator kicks in and this being Florida that happens a lot! 1.2KW is more than what I needed for my digital editing tower with three 25inch monitors and NAS Back Up tower. This is what I needed to protect my system.

Rated 5 out of 5 byDan from Definitely would buy againPower has gone on and off a number of times since using the Smarter 750 XLA and not once have I lost power to my computer. As a telecommuter, working from home, this is a must have. Saves rebooting time every time power would cut off.
