Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid dock for Work From Home on a MacBook. Using with a MacBook, this has the power to drive two monitors, speakers and a Jabra conference puck and still has a couple of USB ports open for other gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not compatible with monitor I was really looking forward to having this dock to coordinate my office work center - my laptop is my main computer, back and forth between home and work, and I have an Apple Thunderbolt Display that I use at the office. The "power" USB-C port on the back of the dock works great - keeps my laptop charged up and ready to go. Unfortunately, the Thunderbolt Display does not "recognize" that it's attached, and will not turn on when attached to the dock - either via USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 connection or via DisplayPort adaptor. The computer "recognizes" that there's another display attached, but the display doesn't activate like it does when I connect directly to the laptop USB-C/Thunderbolt connector. I'm very sad about this. I'm a real enthusiast for Belkin products and have many that have served me well. This dock doesn't quite live up to my needs/what it promises.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek, Ergonomic and Powerful Hello everyone Just a quick recap of what you get with this cool docking station. On the left rear side you have 4 traditional USB Type A ports, a LAN Network port, and a Display port, along with the Thunderbolt type c that is also capable delivering 4k resolution. On the front side you get 1 super speed port, one type c 3.1 port a secure digital card, and a headphone jack, which I think is a nice feature they decided to integrate, and for future designs should always come standard. Probably the only downside is that you have to use a power brick, and some of you may not be used to this, but in order to power so much data, this is unavoidable; the power supply packs 170 watts in total, that’s even more than a typical laptop, so you shouldn’t have any problems when it comes to powering many devices at once. The only thing I noticed, is that the front USB Type C port, could not deliver Fast Charging, however, my device is an old Tab S3, so it may vary by device. The Thunderbolt cable that is included, its rated up to speeds of 40Gbps, and this is the one that will manage all the data between the docking station and your computer. I currently lack a Thunderbolt 3 port in my system, but with only a regular USB 3.1 I was able to get speeds up to 300 MB/s, which is very fast already, but not as fast as Thunderbolt 3. I will update in the future the results with a TB3 system. Overall, I do recommend you buy this Dock, the quality is exceptional, the curved modern design looks great, and blends easily on any desktop environment. it has a shaved metallic surface, and it definitely feels premium quality in your hands, the size is about the same of a typical portable battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and powerful dock! This dock is a great addition to my work-from-home setup. It is compact, especially considering the number of ports available, and uses a large, external power supply. I like this arrangement because it keeps the desk footprint as small as possible while still being able to provide a lot of power. The construction feels very sturdy and looks nice, not gaudy or cheap. The ports are all conveniently located, but the labels are a bit faint and hard to see in a dimly lit room. Video works as expected. I am able to drive a 4K monitor (LG 27UK850) using either the DisplayPort or the Thunderbolt 3 (using a USB-C connection to the monitor). Internally, all ports and devices in the dock are connected by USB 3.2 (SD Card and Ethernet) or USB 2.1 (Audio) and all work exactly as they should. The audio port has good clean sound (uses a Burr-Brown D/A converter), and had no trouble driving my headphones (Shure SRH-1840). The audio IN/OUT functions are shared by a single jack, so this might be an issue for some. I did not test microphone functionality. I had no trouble using the dock with a 2017 iMac or a 2020 13" MacBook Pro, and charging (on the MacBook Pro) worked the same as my existing charger. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the dock. I would like to have an HDMI port, but it's not a deal breaker. Also, all Thunderbolt 3 docks I've tried (including this one) take a long time to wake up external monitors after sleep. I don't know if it's a problem with the operating system, the dock, or Thunderbolt itself, but I could have one issue fixed it would be to make external displays wake at the same time as the internal one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice cleanup and extension of Thunderbolt 3 ports I needed a way to expand ports on my 2018 MacBook Pro 15" for 2 monitors and USB ports and have a single cable hookup so I don't have to unplug multiple cables every time I remove my laptop. I had the Belkin Thunderbolt 2 (TB2) for an older Mac and wanted this one for the new Mac (this one is much smaller in size than the TB2 version). The Display port was very useful for getting the most out of the two 28" 4K monitors but what I needed more was the USB-A powered ports for a laptop cooler, webcam, and USB Microphone. The addition of the SD Card reader is also helpful - miss that from my old Mac! I wish this had dual monitor ports directly but I purchased a DP to TB3 cable and I'll use the port in the back to get the second monitor to get 4K. Plug and Play - no real setup within configuration of Mac OSX. The power supply is a bit large and heavy - it won't be traveling with me. Otherwise great addition to the desktop and will help me with cord management on my standing desk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly and it looks really nice This dock looks super clean and quickly allows you to turn a small laptop 13" into a much more comfortable workstation. I go from one port on my laptop to having charging, usb drives, a larger monitor keyboard and mouse and being able to charge or transfer stuff off my phone to boot. Internet and drives have been full speed and reliable through it It works with my with both my Windows and Ubuntu dual boot perfectly, my girlfriends macbook pro (on Catalina) and it even works with my phone to run Dex which saved me once when I forgot my laptop. Its nice knowing its just going to work so you can get to work and not worry about it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good dock Disclaimer: I was sent a unit from Belkin specifically to review The Thunderbolt 3 dock pro is a great dock for a MacBook Pro. It can connect up to two monitors, charge and act as a hub for any other things you need to plug into your Mac without having a bunch of dongles. The only downside is you also have to have compatible monitors as well. It only has usb-c and DisplayPort connections so I had to buy a couple of adapter to get that to work. other than the minor drawbacks above this dock has been great. I have not experienced any lag or latency between the monitors and computer, the dock is easy to set up and use, and it looks great too. I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a dock like this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect dock! This is the perfect dock for our home office set up. With multiple adults working from our home these days, having a sleek, flexible and powerful dock so that we can each quickly and easily get access to our favorite monitors and peripherals is more important than ever. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, sleek, and well designed I use this with both a MacBook Pro and a Lenovo, and with both devices it connects me to a wide range of peripherals with one-cord convenience, keeping my machines charged. I like the selection of ports, and have found that while it gets warm, it never gets hot, and the functionality is bulletproof. It’s not tiny, but it’s also not big at all, and it does a good job of disappearing on my desk, helping to keep things neat and tidy. Great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Docking Station made easy! I got this docking station and it has made life SO much easier. When I need to take my laptop with me, I just unplug and go. No having to unplug my power or monitor. I would recommend this product for working from home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not fully compatible with Windows 10 Problem is using Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro on Windows 10. My environment: 1) Huawei MateBook X pro laptop woth Thinderbolt 3 port and Windows 10 Pro x64. 2) Apple Thunderbolt Display is a 27-inch A1407 (Thunderbolt 2) connected to the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro using Apple - Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter. Using this configuration I can use only Thunderbolt 3 Belkin dock ports. All other Belkin dock ports, including USB-3/USB-C/Ethernet/Card reader etc are not recognizable by Windows 10 operating system. These ports will be recognized only if I unplug Apple display, so I can use only either configuration - 1)with Apple display without Belkin other ports or 2)without Apple display, but with all Belkin ports. Works without any problems on all my Mackbook Pro 15'(with Thuderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt 3 ports) and MacBook Pro 16'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hub to connect my iPad Pro to an hd monitor! I use this hub to connect iPad Pro to my 4k monitor. The selection of connections made it easy to connect my iPad Pro through the usb c connection to usb c out to monitor for a beautiful 4K picture. The variety of connections makes it easy to charge my iPhone quickly and seamlessly. It charges my iPad Pro as well while watching in stunning 4k!! I have used it with my MacBook as well and has the same quality picture through the thunderbolt 3 port. I would recommend this product to anyone!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, lots of ports! I've been using this dock for about three weeks now, and it has been great so far. My use case is working from home with a closed MacBook Pro (13" 2018) hooked up to a monitor (via DisplayPort) and a few peripherals. I've found this dock to work very reliably for that so far -- no display issues, compatibility problems, or charging speed concerns. There's no added software or drivers required, which makes it more convenient than some docks. There's a lot of USB ports compared to previous docks I've tried, which is convenient -- I was able to put away a USB hub I'd been cluttering up my desk with. The construction is notably solid, and has no obvious machining defects or annoying asymmetries. It's also a near perfect color match to the space gray MacBook Pro, so that's nice. It's surprisingly hefty for the size, with a very solid aluminum case. It does get noticeably warm while connected to my laptop, so that case is presumably serving double duty as a heat sink -- it's all at reasonably low levels in my pictured setup, but you might want to avoid keeping it somewhere confined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expected More I am using this on a Macbook Pro in a home office situation. I had no issues setting it up and getting up and running. While I love the look of the dock, I expected more of it operationally. I was surprised at number of USB-C to Thunderbolt. Personally, I think there should be more Thunderbolt connections, since most devices I use are USB-C. It is also very underpowered for basic home office use. I had a headset, 2nd display, ethernet, camera, and light connected and it disabled devices, so I connected the camera directly to the computer and still had power issues. I think it will be fine with devices that are not requiring much, if any, power. I personally would have put the audio connector on the rear of the unit, but thankful it has one. The SD card slot is a nice bonus. I think the dock will work well for the average home user, but in a home office or a more tech oriented setup, it would take some thoughtful configuration to get the setup to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DisplayPort can't power on monitor Switched from a Kensington Dock to a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro when I switched from a 13" to a 16" MacBook Pro USB-C (2019). The old Kensington Dock can't charge a 16" MacBook Pro, and we have previously with success used Belkin docks together with MacBook Airs in our office. The decisions was therefore easy - switch to a Dock Pro. The problem now starts. When I have been away from my computer in 5-10 min is my external 27" Dell monitor in power saving mode and the Dock will not power up the monitor. Turning off/on the monitor does not help. OSX still detects the monitor, but the monitor complain about no signal from the laptop. I have solved the problem by removing the Dock USB-C cable from my MacBook Pro and inserting it again - one of the times did it kill my laptop and it started op with a BSOD (the black OSX version).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changes And Adapts With Me To Complete My Tasks With more than one office and multiple environments to work in, the versatility of the Belkin Thunderbolt™ 3 Dock Pro checks a lot of boxes for me. As a Realtor, a technology consultant, educator and online content creator, to name a few of the hats I wear, I find myself constantly switching between varied tasks, environments, peripherals and end output products. Before the Thunderbolt™ 3 Dock Pro it was always a scramble for me to retool my MacBook Pro or HP Laptop with a bag full of media converters, gender benders, power supplies and, much to my dismay, lugging around a lot of near duplicate peripherals. Now, with the versatility of the Thunderbolt™ 3 Dock Pro, most everything I typically need, other than a printer and projector, fits in a thin laptop case without bulging from every pocket and space with cables, converters, network devices and bulky "just in case" junk. I built a small spreadsheet of the input and output devices I needed to connect in each office or work scenario, the cable(s) needed, devices available at each "venue" and how they overlapped with other venues. It sounds complicated; however, within a half-hour, I was down to two laptops (Mac OS X 10.15.7 and Win 10), an external HDD/SDD for each role I filled, a robust color printer, my trusty data-video projector, a Wi-Fi Hotspot where needed and a couple of Belkin’s chargers and select cables. The Thunderbolt™ 3 Dock Pro connects a lot of things with one compact device that others with multiple roles and/or careers will find priceless in that it streamlines the transition from one task to the next. Some might question the price without assessing all that is present in one small package; however, once in use and recognizing the tremendous downsizing that can be accomplished, I feel it will be seen as a powerful, economical, invaluable tool for increased productivity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, but one port isn't working The Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro is a great product in concept and I really looked forward to using it. It has nice heft to it and looks good on my desktop. I like the ability to plug my MacBook Pro into it with the USB-C to USB-C cable that was provided. And the extra USB-A ports (front and rear) have been useful for other devices, like an iPhone charging pad, charging my ear buds, etc. I have a USB-C external monitor on order, so I haven’t use that capability yet. The one issue I have is that the front USB-C port shuts down when I plug anything into it. I get a message on my computer that says “USB Accessories Disabled”. If I plug the same device directly into a USB-C port on my MacBook, this error does not appear. I feel fairly confident that this is a fixable problem and am working with Belkin customer care to resolve it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Dock! I have used this dock to hook up to a Windows 10 PC as well as a Macbook Pro. It provides seamless switching between the two devices. I can have access to multiple monitors, speakers, external drives, etc within seconds. This dock also charges my computers while I am using it, so I don't have to have the hassle of taking my laptop charger cord in and out of my bag every day. It may be minor but I definitely appreciate it. When using the dock to access SD cards and one of my larger external drives, it retrieves the data pretty quickly with not much lag time. I am very satisfied with the download and upload speeds. If you are looking for something to simplify the connectivity to your laptop, THIS IS IT! One connection and you're done. This dock as been a much-needed and awesome addition to my home office!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes ports so much more usable on iMac I bought this 2 weeks ago and it has made using my computer so much easier. The Belkin 3 Dock Pro works great on my iMac. With 1 thunderbolt 3 connection, I now have access to multiple USB, a headphone jack, and other ports in a much more accessible location. My iMac ports are all behind the screen, which makes it difficult to move and plug things in every time I need to use an external hard drive or just plug in my headphones. Now the Belkin Dock Pro allows me to use all these ports in one convenient location on my desk without having to move anything. I am so glad that I got this as it has made working on my computer so much easier and accessible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Build and Functionality I will first state that I was unable to test the external monitor feature of the dock because it is limited to Display Port and I had no cables on hand. HDMI would have been preferred for my use cases. The main objection I have to this dock is that the almost as big and heavy as the dock itself. Not a big deal if it is going to be used in a home office scenario, but a deterrent for portability. I have a MacBook Pro connected to the dock via USB-C and it keeps it charged. The SD card reader works nicely as do the various USB ports, ethernet, and audio/mic jack. I don't have the ability to test various speeds, but the overall feel is that it works as expected and easily expands your input capability where Macs only come with USB-C now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Functional! I wasn't sure what to expect opening the box of the Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro. What I found was a very nicely styled device that fits in well with my home office. The number and type of outlets is impressive and they all work well. I did have an initial problem when I attached a couple portable external drives, one USB, and the other a Thunderbolt, but changing the port being used on the laptop corrected that and when I went back to the original port, all worked fine. Probably just didn't have the plug seated well enough. The dock works as advertised with my laptop, quickly charging it as well. It also works as a dock only when attached to my iMac. The only thing I would like to see added is a way to plug into my old laptop that only has the old style USB ports. (Maybe there is and I just don't know of it!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Significant upgrade to my MacBook Pro 16" I use the Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro with my 16" MacBook Pro. Not only do I now have a ton more ports but this dock keeps my MacBook Pro charged up as well. I was worried that the 85 watts of power wouldn't be enough to keep it charged (I previously had another dock with 60-watt charging and it just couldn't keep up) but it works great. Now, my MacBook Pro charger stays in my bag so I always have it when I'm not at home. Having an SD card reader on the front of the dock solves for most people's biggest gripe about the current MacBook Pro lineup: a lack of an SD card reader. I'm using Thunderbolt to connect to my external monitor via my dock. It takes a second to wake up but wakes up every time as expected. A happy surprise about this dock is that it nests perfectly inside my HiRise laptop riser. When I'm not using the front ports, I keep the screen on and everything is neat and clean. The build quality of this dock is excellent. It looks great, too. Even if I wasn't tucking it in to my HiRise, I'd be totally happy displaying it on my desk. I have a smaller dongle-style dock that I keep in my backpack. This is really a true desktop dock so I don't think I'd want to be carrying it around with me. The power brick is large (it needs to be to charge at 85 watts). Overall, this is a great product that significantly expands the capabilities of my MacBook Pro while also freeing up my expensive Apple power brick for mobile work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All My Ports Are Back! I’ve been using the Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro for about 2 weeks now, and I am very happy to report no problems and several unexpected positive features. Since I switched to an all-USB-C MacBook Air, I have done my best to adapt to a single port, but in 20+ years of “classic” USB, I have many non-USB-C devices I still use. Although I am accustomed to carrying around adapters and dongles, the Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro gives me back more than enough ports to save me from fishing through my backpack each time I wish to connect other devices or media. My desktop setup includes an Apple Thunderbolt Display. While this Display is almost 10 years old, it still functions perfectly for the times I’m at my office desk. Thus, I was a bit concerned that the Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro would introduce display synching issues or otherwise perform erratically. It did not. The dock perfectly synchronizes every time I plug it in. The video signal passes through the dock flawlessly and the connection behaves just like it did before I added it...except now I have many more ports available! Speaking of ports, I thought I hadn’t missed my SD card slot from my previous MacBook Air. Turns out, I guess I did. Again, even though I have cables and an external SD card reader, it’s just more convenient to directly plug in the SD card to the Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro because it’s right there all the time. Further, the dock has an Ethernet port, a DisplayPort video port, and a 3.5mm Mic line in/Audio out port. Although I’ve not yet used these ports, it’s great to have options in the event of a Wi-Fi problem, if my Apple Display fails, or for an audio/video project where I could use an additional audio-in option. There are not many negative aspects to this device, but two issues have occurred to me since I began using it. First, the power brick is heavy! If you use a setup similar to mine where you plan to plug the dock into a desktop setup and never move it, the weight of the power brick is a non-issue. However, if you plan to put this dock in your backpack and carry it around, you will be committing to lugging around an additional 2.5 pounds total. Also, and maybe this is only my problem, I find the shape of the dock simultaneously too long and too narrow to find a perfect place on my desk. I'd like to place it on the “foot” of the Apple display, but it’s too wide to go there. A more square shape would have worked better for me, but this issue does not affect my star rating. What started out as a “nice to have” addition to my desktop setup has quickly become a set of features I didn’t realize I was missing. The Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro not only adds many useful ports, it has functioned flawlessly since I added it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Handy The dock is well made and looks very sleek on my office desk. I'm able to plug in flash drives, charge my phone and laptop while connecting to my iMac and use a wired headphone if needed. The port makes this very clean as I don't need to get up to plug devices at the back of my desktop monitor and keep the cords mess to a minimum as I have them hidden in a box below the dock. As I work from home now, I have options of getting another monitor to be able to work more efficiently and plug them into the dock to connect them all like I did at my work. There wasn't much directions provided with the box, but it was intuitive and easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a strong tool to help with a laptop setup So I really like this particular item. It works well with both of my laptops. Its strength comes from the powered USB–C port which can power and charge your laptop’s battery. It is important to note that you will need a laptop that can receive power through that port first. I still can use it fantastically for my gaming laptop that I use both for games and for photo editing because it has a great card reader and extra USB-C ports, I think I will use it for the more portable laptop to charge the battery and avoid taking out my power cord. It’s built well and solid. This is not cheap feeling, so it compliments nicer laptops really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Features Belkin has provided me with this Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro to review as part of the Fans First membership. I like the small size of the dock itself and the 4 ports on the front of it. USB 3.1, USB-C, SD card slot and an audio out jack (see photo). Having those ports on the front make it so much easier than trying to reach around to the back of my iMac to find the SD card slot and other ports. With the audio out jack on the front I can leave headphones plugged in or in my case an audio streamer for my hearing aids that I can easily switch between the builtin speakers or the audio out jack (USB audio CODEC) in System Preferences. Having the two USB ports readily available just make it so convenient to quickly plug something in. The ports on the back are a wonderful addition to my iMac. Four high speed USB ports allow me to keep more of my equipment plugged in. The gigabit ethernet port provides a backup should my built-in gigabit ethernet port fail and also to bridge my built-in gigabit ethernet port with the gigabit ethernet port on the dock yielding a potentially higher throughput. I hooked up a USB-C to HDMI converter to the USB-C port on the back allowing me to mirror or add a second screen to my desktop. So far I don't have a lot of USB-C electronics but look forward to using them with this dock. I hope that this review gives you some insight to the usefulness of the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro and that you might also find value in owning one too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shoddy 16" MacBook Pro Functionality I will mimic what caduser stated in his review, everything he has stated is spot on. I do not share the charging concern because I do not use my laptop in the same fashion as that user and battery drain is a non-issue for me when it's plugged in and charging through the dock. The big problem for me is that 9 out of 10 times coming out of sleep mode fails to wake a DisplayPort connect monitor. I have to unplug the cable from the back of the dock repeatedly and some times power cycle the monitor before it gets detected again. So far this dock is nothing but an expensive headache. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best TB3 Dock for reliability and flexibility I picked this up from Amazon and it is a phenomenal Dock as long as you can exploit its TB3 with your TB3 40 Gps platform, obviously. ethernet, SD card and a very nice audio headphone 1/8 inch, plus USB 3.1 A and C plugs and 4 USB 3 Type A, The oneTB3 for interfacing to your platform and the other TB3 for additional docks in series or serving as a mini display port . along side an HDMI port. The only thing I would want to add isa digital audio in/out spdif port but as it is its a 13 into 1 dock and it runs smoothly fully loaded . I have a MOTU Ultralite Hybrid I use for digital audio converters and bal/unbal in/outs with a Maschine Mk 3 both communicating with my i9900K laptop through the Belkin Pro dock.. One of the nice and thoughtful aspects of the Pro Dock is the thin power connector that hooks the 170w Power supply transformer up to the dock. The power supply plug is a small diameter long throw plug which snaps into the dock pretty firmly, but I have so much going on that I don't move it around much. I will get another soon, I think it is much better thought out and a level above my OWC dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad value, won't run multi monitors out of box For as much as this item costs and being the highest price point model of the lineup I'd expect it to have dual display ports. The mid range thunderbolt 3 plus dock has two ports and costs less. The reason I find this absurd is because a display port splitter/ MFT hub is an additional $50+. I would imagine for most "pro" users they would be using multiple displays. Aside from that HUGE oversight, the aesthetic and build quality is nice. Audio out would have been nice from the rear but I use an external audio interface so not horrible for my use case. Like I said for the price it should work with multi monitors out of the box, which is why I gave it 1 star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Issues with DisplayPort detection on MacBook Pro This dock offers solid built quality and a lot of ports for functional versatility. Unfortunately I am having the same issues as others regarding detection of monitors connected through a DisplayPort cable. I tried both the dedicated DisplayPort connection and using it through a USB-C adapter, same issues with inconsistency waking up, intermittent waking of the monitor when I'm not using it, sometimes having to disconnect and reconnect or power cycle to get the monitor to work. The computer I am using it with is a 15" 2018 MacBook Pro. Wish this just worked reliably as I would otherwise be pleased with the convenience this dock should deliver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unable to turn on computer from Power Off This product is great to use it with my MacBook Pro. However, this product does not have any power button to turn on my laptop from Power Off. I have to unplug and re-plugin it back to the laptop. Then, the computer is able to be turned on by pressing any key on the keyboard or shaking a mouse. I contacted Belkin support if there is any resolution to the issue. But I was asked to transfer to a department and then, the department transferred to another depart.... I am frustrated with your poor customer services.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dock, but DisplayPort not working properly Sometimes when I power on the dock and press any key on keyboard, Mac awakes and display starts showing the picture. But sometimes it does not until I open the lid on my Mac. I do power off all devices occasionally. But it also happens when I just press Ctrl+Shift+Eject, and then 5 min later try to wake it up by pressing any key. Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off is checked. As being said in other reviews, lots of times I have to power cycle the dock, the display, or open-close the lid to make dock work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really wanted it to work.. So I am a huge fan of Belkin products. For years now their products get the job done for me. This product is beautiful but it just does not work properly. Somehow one of my monitors will turn on during the boot up and log in but once I log in the other monitor turns on while the original one turns off and I have to unplug and plug it back in about 15-20 time before I can get it to work. (If I'm lucky). Sometime I'll connect my computer and none of the peripherals attached to the dock will connect. I have to unplug the power source for the plug and reconnect it for it to work. It has honestly been one of my worse purchases this year, and if it had worked it would've easily been one of my best. I would be so happy to know that this is just a defective one that I received but from what I see with the other reviews, it seems that the ball was just dropped with this hub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not truly compatible with new 16-inch MacBook Pro It provides the stated connectivity, but is unable to deliver enough power to keep a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro fully charged under load — it only provides 85W but the laptop needs a 96W power supply. Despite saying power source "Power Adapter", the battery slowly drains and eventually the computer shuts itself off. It also fails to wake up displayport-attached monitors reliably after sleep, and I often have to disconnect and reconnect repeatedly until the display works again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product but to much excess cable-waste Bought 3 docks for my academy's video editing suites, it's got all the right connections and works well for the purpose... satisfied with that. Just one thing, WHY does it come with all these excess cables? I sit here now with 6 powercables that are of absolutely NO USE for us. Just what are we supposed to with powercables for United Kingdom and Switzerland that we living in the EU have no use for? Throw them away? As if resources on earth was unlimited? They are not. It comes with a hight cost for our one and only planet to produce all these things that will never ever be used. Please, in the future, send this product only with the cable needed in the area where it is to be used. I understand that in your point of view you might think you save money on not doing so, but it won't be possible to go on for ever doing like this. Or, sell it separately, or save on material by sending just one powercable with a choice of small adapters for the plug into the wall part, like some other companies do. Please do something to perform better on the enviromental friendly part. It does matter. A lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some tips for M1 users I'm overall very happy with this dock. I have the M1 MacBook Air. However I had some issues with my external display connected via DP right from the start in Big Sur. It wouldn't recognise the display when connecting the dock, so I had to put the computer to sleep, wait for the dock LED to turn amber and then wake it up and that would always work. When I then upgraded to Monterey (with hopes of these issues being resolved) the display just wouldn't work at all. I tried a thousand things but nothing worked. Finally I bought a usb c to DP cable, and that seems to do the trick, connecting to the thunderbolt/usb c port in the back. Works better than it ever did with DP. I was very frustrated when I couldn't find any solutions online, so I thought I'd post this here to let people know. I also still don't know what the problem is, because it works fine with an older MacBook Pro that's also on Monterey. There are a few glitches from time to time on that setup, so maybe it's just that the DP is a bit faulty and for some reason the m1 really doesn't like that. If not I guess it would be a bit easier to find other users with the same problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleep / Wake problem The sleep problem still occurs (currently Monterey 12.2). That is the Monitor does not wake up after the computer (MBP - Intel) wakes up. I would expect a solution for a dock at this price level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handsome full-featured dock could be better. Overall I am happy to have a dock with thunderbolt 3 capability, but I have three issues with this particular product. (1) The power supply only provides a maximum of 85W for charging overhead which causes me to have to plug in laptop powersupply as well as the thunderbolt cable. (2) My laptop won't wakeup upon a keystroke or mouse movement as it does when it is undocked. The reliable method for wake up is to unplug the thunderbolt cable and plug it back in. (3) I regularly experience lag driving two 27" monitors at 2560 x 1440. My laptop has a 6th gen i7 and dedicated graphics processor (nvidia quadro M1000M), which seems ample. Even just using a text editor with a web browser open causes significant lag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thunderbolt Dock powerhouse Finding a reliable thunderbolt dock for my new 16" Macbook Pro has not been as straightforward of a process and I would have thought. Seems most products are rated as being underpowered, lacking features or generally unreliable. I was a bit skeptical at first given that this dock like most has some mixed reviews. In the end though I've found this dock to be a great piece of hardware! It delivers more than enough power to keep my Macbook Pro 16" charged. It drives my external 4K monitor at 60hz flawlessly (caveat: I did have to change my thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable to to make it work - but it was a fault with the cable not the dock). And finally the USB 3.1 ports work efficiently without any dropouts. I haven't used the audio ports. I'm happy to have this dock and would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent until Big Sur Great product until it encountered Big Sur. Then the Ethernet port wouldn’t connect. Tried with 2 MacBook Pros. An Ethernet dongle worked through the thunderbolt port. Belkin support wasn’t able to get it working before my Amazon deadline to return the unit. I’m sure Belkin will get it figured out, but for me I had to go with an OWC dock

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slow and Hot I give the Thunderbolt™ 3 Dock Pro a generous ???. GOOD: This device will allow you to connect many external devices to one Thunderbolt port. I have 2 4k monitors, a printer, power supply, and a network cable all connected to one Thunderbolt port on my macbook. BAD: This device gets hot after several hours of use. Occationally one or both monitors that are connected to it will lose signal. And waking my MacBook when connected is VERY SLOW. It takes a full 30 -60 seconds to wake up and get everything working and then occationally one of the monitors won't have signal, requiring an additional minute or so of trubleshooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unreliable waste of $224.99 (on sale) plus tax Belkin shipped this to me on 12/01/2020, so I have had it for about 20 months now. I need the functionality that it offers, but every time I forget why I haven't been using it I plug it in and I am reminded that it goes in and out as though I unplugged it. I have not unplugged it. I can't have my external drive disconnected in the middle of file transfer or to have my wi-fi card disconnected while needing internet access. I looked for a firmware update on the site, but there is none. I called support on a Saturday and they said to call back during normal business hours. I want/need help now. It is unlikely that I will buy anything from Belkin in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good design, fails to deliver I got this Belking dock as a replacement for my old Dell docking station. I've been using it for over a year by now.It is functional and helps a lot with the potential mess at your desk, but fails to delivers while waking up the monitor and the only solution is to unplug the power and only then it will work. It is really annoying and at that price point I will expect such basic thing to be covered. I went to the store and they mentioned that sometimes with multiple monitors it can be a bit slow, I only have a 49" ultra wide monitor and even using only that port does not deliver as it is supposed to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Numerous issues making it a poor choice I bought this dock at the start of 2021 and it's been a bumpy ride. 1. When macbook goes to sleep and you have ethernet cable connected it will take down your entire network. There are a number of threads about this issue and Belkins only response has been to unplug everything before computer goes to sleep. This defies the whole purpose of the dock and doesnt seem to be something that is being worked on solving. 2. I have dual monitors connected to the dock and from time to time the second monitor doesnt wake up from sleep when I connect the macbook. Other times both monitors are being reported as the same type to MacOS which messes up the monitors individual settings in terms of scaling and alignment. Only workaround is to restart the computer. To charge a premium price for a product that is clearly dysfunctional and then not bother to provide any updates or other true error handling from Belkin is down right dishonest!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lets you down with consistent 4K availability I'm about six months into daily use of this docking station with my MacBook Pro 13" (2020 edition) and it generally performs as expected. I got this to replace a Brydge dock that was unable to meet the commitments of its specifications. Looks: It's a nice, clean design with a color that matches the space grey of the MacBook. I have it mounted using 3M Command strips to the base of my standing desk so that I can save space on the work surface. Rating: 4/5 Connections: I have two external 4K monitors--one using DP to DP and the other using USB-C to DP. I also have an SD card present at all times, a USB-A dongle for a headset, two USB-A to USB-A/B connectors in the monitor to make USB ports available there and an Ethernet cable. The USB-A to USB-A/B connectors have additional peripherals connected--USB speakers, USB microphone, and USB camera. There are enough connectors whether I use the monitor hubs are not. Rating 5/5. Performance: As noted with the connections, I have many things connected and in use at all times. The dock generally delivers everything I expect, but not always. My chief complaint is that the dock struggles with displaying on the external 4K monitors after connecting the USB-C docking cable (after undocking) or when waking from sleep or when the screens have turned off but the laptop still is active. This is a real pain to fix, which usually includes disconnecting the power supply from the docking station, disconnecting the laptop, reconnecting them, and sometimes rebooting the laptop. This is a fatal flaw. It also is the case that the SD card sometimes will disappear from view even though it hasn't been touched. It is no longer accessible until I remove and insert the cards multiple times and clear the error messages that it has been removed without ejecting (it can't be ejected because it isn't visible.). This is also a fatal flaw. It doesn't work consistently without this extra bit of troubleshooting. Rating 2/5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expected less bugs for $300 After setting up this doc, I noticed that the ethernet port wasn't working. I switched out the cable with the same result. Messed around with it for over an hour, and couldn't get it to work. I finally had to unplug all peripherals and power, shut down my Mac pro and then reconnect and boot. It stared working. Now one of my monitors will not wake up, but the other does. The only work around I have found is to unplug power from the doc and plug it back in. Unplugging the monitor won't work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ceased to work I bought this back in January of this year from the apple store and it worked great. Very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a wise investment I've been using this product for the last 2 years and can honestly say it's a piece of junk. When you attach your Thunderbolt 3 cable to the docking station, you're playing Russian roulette. It will only function for a third of the time. My firm ordered ten devices, and all of my coworkers are having the same problem. Oh, and be prepared for your Macbook Pro to crash at any time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of junk The dock has a sleek design but I am having trouble getting the dock to recognize my USB-C ports that are connected to my external monitors. I have a 2019 macbook pro 16-inch and I have connected a HP external monitor with the display port to the dock. And from the dock I am connecting a USB-C to USB-C cable to my macbook pro. I cannot get the dock to recognize it is connected to my macbook (the green light is not coming on). I will fidget with the USB-C connection in the back of the dock and when I move it around, gently, the light will turn green and recognize the macbook. Other than that it is a good dock but seems to be cheaply made because the connections are not solid.
