The method used on this printer for removing the backing from the printed tape appears to be an after thought. I find myself using a razor blade to accomplish this. This printer is in need of a redesign.

I replace the battery with brand new one, still same problem.... I bought this after my previous PT-M95 had died. it has previously saying low battery issue and then died. I have a feeling this is not going to last either

I am pleasantly surprised to report that it works great and has so many additional features that were not present on the older model. My step son was always using mine so I bought him his own for Christmas. We are both completely happy with our label makers.

I changed battery and the same things happen. I checked both sets of battery and they both are good. I should have bought one with an electrical plug, not batteries.

Screen is not easy to read. I’m still not sure how the tape separater feature is supposed to work. I guess it helps a bit. But, after figuring out how it works, it does work. This is a solid, no-frills machine.

I don't find the machine to be as user friendly as much as the older style machines. And the sticking ability of the tape downright stinks. I made labels to place on plastic drawers so i could look at a glance at the label for content. The labels are constantly curling up at the edges.

No double click to clear - you have to hold down the back space key. Not a big problem just a slight annoyance. Over all a wonderful little machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frustrating machine! Would never buy another. The label maker won’t print anything over 7 letters. It just shuts off, or quits halfway through saying “battery low”. So frustrating. I ordered this online when we were in California, and the company did try to help me, but it took so long, that we were leaving for home (Canada) and the replacement wouldn’t get to me in time. They wouldn’t send it to my home address either. So I’ve had to eat the cost of this one. I have to give the company credit for trying, but none for not sending to my home.

I used the troubleshooting guide to remedy the situation, and that worked for a few times, but it stopped working again. I honestly cannot recommend this product

It is a shame this is a nice little unit but even with brand new fresh batteries after just a little bit it indicates low batteries. Replacing with fresh new batteries is no different. I have tested the batteries and they are not low, in fact they are comparable with the brand new batteries. I assume there is some problem with this reporting but it would be nice if this was somehow fixed. Otherwise, I cannot recommend this.

I had a previous model that had a battery malfunction. This one performed without any problem. It does have larger margins at the beginning and end of the tape than I would like to see. Other than that, I am happy with this product and it's functions. What would make it perfect is if it had an option to be plugged into an outlet.

Recently, I purchased the M-95 and much to my surprise I find this smaller model has all the features I want. It is easy to operate and easy to store. This is a brand new unit. I tested the batteries and they are all good. Unit operates OK. 2. I can't get the label to fit into the peeler. It seems like the slot opening is not large enough. 3. Lots of features BUT operation is too complicated except for very basic labels. 4. Instruction sheet is very awkward to use.

It lasted less than a week of sparse use before that low battery turned into dead battery. I put new batteries in it again and it still does it. These batteries were bought 2 months ago. I can't complain about brothers machines because I just lost the labeler I had before after 25 yrs of usage! This machine, can be held in one hand, previews your selection, also allows you to control the symbol's you use or other information, is a great price and the cartridges are not taking a lot out of your pocket! All in All a great product with a great price, also the cartridges too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features for the cost. The purchase was to replace an older Brother hand-held labeler that finally gave up the ghost. The fact it was on sale made the purchase a no-brainer especially since it used the same label tapes. The 12-char display was a nice improvement over the older 8 char display, and the tape printouts were just as crisp and easy to read as the older unit. The table-top style made the device easier to use and since it uses 4 AAA instead of 6 AA, it is lighter and easier to carry. The advertised "200 symbols" that are included turned out to be a disappointment for me, most of them are oriented for kids. Symbols for everyday objects were rather spares. Overall, the product does what it advertises, does it well, and is a good value.

However, I found that after making just four labels, I'm getting a "low battery" alert. My brand-new Durocel batteries aren't just some cheap brand. My other label makers last YEARS before I get a low battery message.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to peel label Two problems. One the label is hard to peel. The build-in peeler is useless. . Two. Even with fresh batteries, each time it prints it gives a low battery warning. I don't care about the second item, but the first is troubling.

My old PT-110 was given to me many years ago and had served me well. I like that this model prints 2 line labels and in different fonts. Very simple to use.

It produced clear labels, only problem I had was trying to get the backing off the tape, the slot on the machine for this didn't really help so I had to manually get the backing off, other wise works great.

Wish it had a ac adapter so I could use it. Mostly just a paper weight right now. I bought a brother because I love the printer I just bought. Thought the label maker would be the same - not so much!

This was NOT the label maker to go with. The low battery indicator was warning me after printing 2 labels!!! I managed to get 3 more out of it before it just won't print any more. This is with brand new batteries, and only printing simple, file folder labels. Nothing crazy. Do not purchase this, not even for a bargain. You'll waste time and money purchasing batteries, that you could just spend purchasing a better label maker.

It can be difficult to remove the backing of the tape after you print anything, using a exacto knife makes removing the tape backing easy. For what it can do its a bargain.

The service dept. suggests replacing the batteries and making sure the batteries aren't expired. I sent one unit back to get a replacement. The replacement unit had the EXACT same problem. I received a "refurbished" unit instead of a new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Disappointed I was quite disappointed in this product. When first purchased, I printed a few labels and got an error message "LOW BATTERY". I replaced the batteries (twice with brand new ones and go the same error message. I contacted Brother and they sent me a new unit. After printing a few labels with the new unit, I got the same error message even after replacing batteries twice. I contacted Brother again and they sent me a PTD-210 label maker which worked perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Re-evaluation and retraction of bad review. One of these reviews is mine, with disparaging remarks about the unit giving low battery warnings after printing only one label. Performance changed to the better when I replaced the batteries to brand new Duracells. I can now print multiple labels with no warnings. The batteries I was using were new, but were of a store brand from a well known bulk purchase warehouse. They are usually reliable, but I recently became suspicious that I had a bad batch. My camera, for instance, was also failing after only one picture. So I retract my nasty comments and advised that the PT-M95 is working to my needs and original expectations.

Didn’t have instructions in the box when I purchased it, the box had been opened, it was the last one and I didn’t check, but the help line was great and was able to download PDF instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from difficulty maintaining WiFi & IP Address We have spent hours and hours with our technical staff trying to get the Brother MFCJ4620DW to stay connected to our WiFi. We have also spent a few hours with Brother Technical Support, who/which could not fix the problem. This printer was purchased because it is narrow and printed pages come out long side of the page parallel to the printer. If I were to make a recommendation, I would have a sheet feeder which could take 50 pages and 2-sided scanning.

The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that it was a bit confusing in the beginning to understand it (It could just be my lack more than the machine. All in all it is a great product that I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight lable maker with formatting options Until recently, I still owned the earlier version of this product from 15 years ago. All was well until I dropped it. Had to buy a new one. The current model, PT-M95, is lighter, takes fewer batteries, and is more "computerized." Thankfully, I was familiar with the screen layout from the previous model. Otherwise, it's a bit tricky to learn the functions even though there is a comprehensive guide included. Hopefully, I won't drop this one any time soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing, so say the least This label maker has only two font sizes: Large (actually gigantic) and Small (actually tiny). While the company thought we needed 9 styles, it did not occur to Brother USA that having three or more sizes would be a good idea. The older P-Touch model I had, and which finally died after many years, had at least 4 sizes to choose from! Having a gazillion little pictographs is not as useful as having a real choice of font size.
