Cisco 250 Series SG250X-48P - switch - 48 ports - smart - rack-mountable is rated3.00 out of5 by2.
Rated 5 out of 5 byRobcast from Remove Novice FeaturesThe Smartport Roles and the OUI Lookup are horrible. I just recently implemented 3 of these switches and I ran into issues that put my job in jeopardy. I was trying to use Smartport roles to implement Auto Voice Vlan. The roles changed their elections midday and made ports switch from Access Mode to Trunk Mode with no default Vlan specified even though I already specfied my default Vlan on the XGE1 and XGE2 Trunk Ports! Data and phone connections went away for many and I went from a fairly obscure existence in the office to the most popular guy that day.The CEO and my VP were not very happy with me. Fortunately I have been able to keep my job. There is not enough documentation to describe how to a Voice and Data Vlan to these switches without the GUI. The CLI is your friend if you enable SSH but even then the Syntax is different enough that you must be careful.Creating a port group for LAG was very easy though using the XGE ports. Even those these are 10gig ports they will allow 1gig connections which is really nice because it gives you 2 ports back for Access ports; 24 and 48.The utilization has been nominal so these switches have shown us a 30% increase in speed across the network. No more "Spurious Retransmissions" so they Skype For Business modalities are not effected and RDP issues are non-existent.Auto Voice Vlan works for assigning Phones to a Voice Vlan but only if the OUIs for these phones are added into the database. For the price they are pretty fair switches but the Novice Features must be removed to avoid confusion. Making this command work on them would be a plus:switchport voice vlan XXX
