Second time's the charm
The Dell representative told me I needed the 7.4mm dongle. He was wrong. After returning it I got this one, which works with the old power cord from my XPS 13 9360.

Yellow triangle warning is annoying
Seems to work just fine with my XPS-15, but when i connect to a 130w dell power supply for an older XPS-15, I get a warning that it is not giving me full power.

Not sure what I actually received????
I ordered a number of items a docking unit, extra power supply and an extra Model DBQBJBCO54 USB adapter. I also received a 4.5mm Barrel to USB-C adapter but I am not sure what it is for.
I was also disappointed with the extra power supply, the power supply it's self is black, power cord from the outlet to the power supply is white? The original equipment everything is black?

Dell comes through again!
Does the trick! No need to waste all the power cables from my 2017 XPS 13. Am now able to repurpose half a dozen of them to charge the 2020 XPS 13 which requires USB-C. Appreciate Dell's commitment to its products, and to their customers!

Works with Dell 7590 and PW7018LC
I've been using this with my Dell 7590 power adapter to charge a Dell PW7018LC, which can in turn charge my laptop at the same time. The laptop reports that it is a slow charger when charging both this way, but when I need to charge both overnight, this works perfectly.

Wrong Device with no Tech Support
I was disappointed that even though I explained that I wanted to connect a Dell Charger to a Type C Dongle (with pictures this device did not work and had to be returned.

Works as it should, nice led to indicate charging, good quality. Really helps me given the corner of my XPS13 is smashed so I can't use the barrel plug for charging.

Using Dell Barrel to USB-C Charging Adapter
I purchased the dongle so I could use the dozen or so chargers in my bins to charge my new 9410. This one does not fit. It turns out I needed the larger barrel adapter to fit those old D and E-series Latitude chargers.

4.5 mm to Type C dongle did not work
I ordered the 4.5 to Type C dongle to be sure I used a Dell adapter that kept the max wattage from damaging our new Dell Rugged laptop. I plugged the 4.5 into the dongle and no power was present, indicated by no light on the Type C plug. I thought maybe something happened to my 4.5 but found it was fine and still powered the old laptop. I ended up having to run an extension cord to the 110 outlet in the police car and utilize the wall charger that came with the Dell Rugged laptop. I now have an appointment with an upfitter to put a permanent and safer power source in place.

Best buy I ever made!
So glad I bought this! I have so much trouble with the charging cable getting ruined or ruining the port from the cord bending because of proximity of the port. This Barrel adapter is such an asset as the C port is more centrally located on the side of the machine and the dongle dont bend like the charging cable alone

Completely met expectations, allowing me to adapt 4.5mm barrel charger to USB-C reducing my cost for a 2nd Dell charger and allowing me to quickly go back to the barrel charger for the old laptop while I finish transferring files to a back up drive.

4.5mm barrel to USB C
Works great with the DELL batteries i already own from my previous laptop. I even bought both sizes 4.5mm and 7mm as our 12v power supply has both size barrels and will provide dual charging capabilities in the car or truck being able to charge both battery's at once or laptop and battery.
