After it failed nothing worked until I replaced the cartridge with the previous almost empty cartridge. I could not print with a color fonts as all printing stopped. I am not sure what I would have done if I did not have the previous cartridge available. I needed immediate print. Poor design for this printer disabling all print when one source failed.

I have noticed that your claim as to how many pages you get, 200B&W, 165 Color is untrue. I have just loaded a new set on 6/29, printed 10 color pages and 1 B&W letter size, and the both the color as well as the B&W cartridges are almost down to the half-way mark.I started to notice this happening more and more. I have been a loyal customer and have not only the Envy 5660, I also have the HP 7612. I am happy with the print quality of both printers, but I'm going through ink on the 5660 as if there is hardly enough ink to complete my work. The pages I am printing are small graphics and the text is normal. Can you explain what's going on? I am replacing the inks far to often for the printing I am doing. Hope you have some answers for me because I sincerely believe the ink tanks are not as full or deliver what you advertis in pages.

I installed it but couldn't align the printhead and several attempts to do so caused the cyan color to disappear completely. Cleaning the electrodes didn't help. Exchanging the first cartridge to another new cartridge did cure the problem.I notice that the cyan slit has open spaces where is no ink. To answer your question- recommending to a friend, this is he first time that I have ever had a problem with a HP product.

When I received the ink cartridge and inserted on my HP Envy 5660, I was again very disappointed because the cartridge was almost dry. I was only able to print less then 5 colored photos and my cartridge ran out of colored ink. I will never order any ink from HP. Very disappointed....

However, after printing only ~5 pages with the new cartridges, I am getting a message from my printer saying there is something wrong with the black ink cartridge and I cannot print anything. I haven't done anything to damage the cartridge and now I have wasted a lot of money since I am going to have to purchase another black cartridge. I am disappointed.

The HP 62 is half the size and same price as the 6510?! I think it sucks ink, and it always wants to be smarter than I, a graphic arts guy for more than 35 years. I really can't wait for a good excuse to move on to something way better.

I have gone to generics a couple of times and found the print quality was not as good. The last time I used generic it totally destroyed my printer, gummed it up beyond repair. I have never used generic again. If quality counts to you than HP cartridges is all that you should use.

I have tried those refilled ones and they may be cheaper but they are not cheaper in the long run because sometimes they do not work and they do not last as long as the HP ink. Hp ink also doesn't leave the residue that some of those refilled ones due in the machine which gunks it up.

I found that refilled ink cartridges don't work the same, shorter ink life, and the ink level indicator won't register. All you get is a yellow warning tringle symbol. So, I have to go back to purchasing new HP ink cartridges.

Also I could not find the XL cartridges which do last longer and does save some money. My next printer will not be an HP, but an Epson EcoTank printer which will save huge money over the years and be so much more convenient than buying these over priced HP cartridges every few months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality ink straight from the source I needed this ink ASAP, so I initially tried to purchase it from the Biggest Big Box Store Of Them All online for "same day in-store pickup." That was a monumental fail, and after 3 days of waiting to be notified that it was ready to be picked up, I ended up having to spend nearly 45 minutes buying it in-store (don't even ask how that's possible). The color cartridge immediately stopped working. I'm guessing it had sat on the shelf so long that it had dried out. Either way, it was not worth it to me to go back to try to return it. Still needing this ink for work and having wasted nearly a week trying to get it, I decided to purchase it directly from HP and take my chances on what I assumed would be an extended shipping wait. Imagine my surprise when not only was shipping FREE, but it would arrive the next day! My ink arrived the next morning, and the ink has been great, both black and color. I'm so pleased, and I will be ordering my ink directly from HP from now on. Lesson learned!

I had this same problem a year ago but printer still under warranty so they sent me new cartridges. I have had HP printers for many years but never had this situation where the ink dries up if not used in under a year. The cost of the cartridges was the price I paid so I may just get a new printer next time.

The new printer had very poor quality. So poor we were embarrassed to use the documents that printed. So, we were back to our HP Printer and the print quality is great! You get what you pay for.

Used up a quarter of color+black following suggestions to clean, align, etc. Worse, there was no obvious way to contact HP to report the defective cartridge for a refund or exchange. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Customer Support for a Defective Ink Cartridge In December 2022, I purchased from the on-line HP Store an HP62 2-pack Black/Tri-Color ink cartridge set for my HP Envy 7640 home printer, always keeping a spare set on hand for future use. When installing the cartridges recently (9/23) it appears that the tri-color cartridge is defective. The cartridges will not align and when running the "clean cartridge" option from the printer tools menu, the Cyan color is missing. I am giving the product a poor rating for two reasons. First, this is the third cartridge from HP on-line that I have found defective and secondly and more importantly, customer support is NOWHERE to be had for this item unless you register with an account or have an instant ink program, neither of which I care to participate in. The phone numbers provided on the website for customer support are all AI automated and lead to more frustration than answers. And there is no general email address to contact HP for this type of issue. So, I have placed my last order with HP On-Line and will instead purchase from a local Best Buy or Walmart where I can easily return anything found defective. As a result of this issue, I have lost confidence in HP as it appears their product quality is failing and they are unwilling to provide any means to deal with this type of issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP ink's POOR longevity The only reason I buy hp ink is to avoid buying another printer. I've had 3 hp printers over the last 10 yrs and the ink is a rip-off. I dries too quickly and though there is still over a quarter to a third of ink left the print quality falls to such poor quality.
