Disappointing print quality.
The ink is very light. There is no difference in quality between this new toner and the low toner cartridge that was replaced. The printer could not authenticate the toner. Disappointing.

I have used aftermarket cheap refill toner cartridges the colors never just there after purchasing a set of the HP ones which cost a little bit more money I found that the little bit more money was a money well spent as the photos and pictures that I can print are just out of this world

I installed my current cartridge 11/7/2019. I'm disappointed with it only lasting this long before getting light streaks on the printed page. It is far from the advertised 1500 pages per cartridge. I haven't gone through 2 reams of paper yet and am experience this problem.

UMMMM, something is not right
This printer is my check printer. I just changed the toner out from the empty or almost empty one, to the new one....it prints light, like it is almost out of toner and my littler HP window on my computer, each time I print a check, say, YOU ARE EXTREMELY LOW ON TONER........did I get a bad one...........not sure.

I ordered an HP 83a toner cartridge brand new. I had been using Greencycle brand toner
cartridges for my hp printer which worked just as well as the orig HP toner cartridge that came with the printer when I bought it new. Really, the only reason I ordered the HP cartridge was because I thought I had one more cartridge left & needed it shipped overnight and saw the HP 83a with overnight shipping on ebay so I ordered just one. Honestly, I will use Greencycle or another generic brand next time because they are half the price of HP (or less) and in my experience work just a well and for just as long

What a convenience, no need to try to find the correct cartridge, because the printer tells them and the shipping was very speedy!

Ok with Issues
The ribbon is fine. What I disloke is the authentication prompts every few minutes, every day, all day. I've now completed the steps several times and don't know why. The prompt says it's to protect me from counterfeit products. My thought is that it benefits HP not me and is designed to make sure I don't save money by buying cheaper versions of the product that work. If that's such a concern, why not make prices more competitive rather than charge nearly $100 a cartridge?

Easy to install, but nonetheless disappointing
While easy to install, this toner cartridge appears to be a bit pricey. I agree with certain other reviewers that the cartridge's stated 1500 page capacity may be overstated. The printer output could also be a bit darker. For reference, the printer model I primarily use currently is the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw, for which I believe the 83A model is the only option.

Page Yield Not As Advertised
I have been using this toner replacement for quite some time now and I am only able to yield about 850-900 pages before the color starts to go out. The advertised amount is 1500. This isn't even close for how many it should yield. I am not printing super high def images or anything like that to make the toner supply run out any quicker than it should.

Authentication fails?
This is the 4th cartridge in a row that fails to authenticate. The cartridges print great, even though they do not seem to last as long as they used to (and I am actually printing less). I use the Econ settings for everything except for things that have to look really good. I took off 1 star due to not authenticating and 1 star for getting noticeably less printing. Is it possible it’s my printer’s fault the authentications fails? If you can tell me how to fix that I will give you back that star!!!!! Chuck

I loved the package redesign - I thought- "great for the environment!" but now we are replacing the cartridges twice as often and the price didn't go down- so now we are paying double and have double the recycling for the same number of printed pages- if you want to save the planet please figure our how to put MORE actual toner in there so I don't have to change them as frequently-

So far pleased with hp products since buying my first lap top in year 2000. Bought an hp laser jet and lately a wireless hp printer. Don't want any problems so decided to buy an HP replacement cartridge vs a much cheaper knock off. This printer has been great and cartridge seemly lasts for ever.

Bought an HP laser Jet printer years ago. Although just black and white printing, it was all I needed for my personal use. Was concerned at first as to the cost of these printer cartridges, and how long they would last. But turns out they last a very long time, so the cost is pennies. Can’t say anything bad about them.

This cartridge states approximately 1500 copies.....I have bought at least five or six now and I would be happy to get at least 500 copies. I average maybe 300 . This is terrible and I guess I will be buying another printer. $70 for 300 pages? ludicrous

This cartridge has a place of honor on a shelf in my supply closet, waiting for the old cartridge to run out. Printouts are becoming slightly grey instead of pure black, so I think it will be pressed into service soon. It looks just like the old one, so I expect it will work as well.

These toner cartridges are excellent value and lead to a quality print job every time. With loads of warning, you have plenty of time to order a new cartridge before your old one tuns out. I believe the print heads are on the cartridge and therefore are changed every time that the cartridge is changed.
