The RD-1 is designed for use with phones that also support native headset hookswitch control and works with Plantronics CS50, CS60, CS70, and Voyager 510S wireless headset families. Once connected, the RD-1 will send a ringer alert to the headset any time the phone rings.

The RD-1 works with ShoreTel and Toshiba desk phones and may work with additional manufacturers, check with our

Plantronics - hook switch is rated4.00 out of5 by2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Failure RateWe have about ten of these around our company. We have replaced four in the last 14 months with an average usage of 3500 calls per month system wide. They work as advertised, are very easy to set up, and are very affordable. The design, probably more on the side of ShoreTel than anything, needs improvement. All it seems to be is a little mic that you stick on to the speaker of the phone. It gives a beep in the ear of the headset when the mic picks up your phone's ring. The tape does not hold well for more than a month and then just dangles there, getting in the way of your handset if you ever decide to use it instead of the headset. ShoreTel needs to develop an external jack or a programming feature to ring in the ear. Preferably the programming feature considering it is a checkbox in the Director software to enable the headset. Overall it is an average product that does what it is supposed to for a medium period of time. For the price I would still recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nullWhen we switched to a ShoreTel phone system earlier this year, we were told that our Plantronics CS50 headsets would be compatible. They were...but, users quickly complained because they no longer got a "beep" in the headset when there was an incoming call. The Plantronics RD-1 fixed that (and I've never seen so much joy out of users). This just consists of a small microphone that you stick on the speaker of the phone. When it hears the phone ring, the headset will "beep". Note: the ringer must be turned up on the phone for this to be able to work.
