Viewsonic VG2253 good monitor with bad speakers
The Viewsonic VG2253 has a nice display however it fall shorts on a couple of areas:
1) The built-in speakers sound bad, are under-powered, and are rear-facing. It's as if Viewsonic found some rubbish speaker and shoehorned it into the top of the back of the monitor. Front-facing speakers would have a been a much better choice.
2) The illusion of edge-to-edge display. The front glass goes edge to edge on 3 sides however it leaves a ~ 1/2" border of black on the the top and sides.
The upsides to this monitor are:
1) Wide variety of adjustments including height and screen rotation.
2) Soft touch buttons are well spaced out and overall pretty responsive.
If only Viewsonic put some more thought into the placement and quality of the speakers, this would be a solid 4.5 star monitor.
