Very slight pressure on the handle will slowly raise the desk. And a firm 2 hand push will lower the desk effortlessly. The dip along the edge is just deep enough to hold a tablet so that it doesn't fall over. No issues for my tablet with a case. Accessory: The storage bin fits my kids textbook and note paper perfectly. Does not interfere with sitting and using the desk. Highly recommended for the mobility. Design: This is more designed for your young adult as the lowest setting still requires a chair of normal height to utilize effectively. Cost: Its a little on the high end, but it feels a lot stronger built and if you can afford it, worth the cost.
