Doesn't do the basic thing it's created to do.
Sadly the other reviews tell the story. There are no instructions provided and I could not get it to connect to my wifi. Excellent wireless printing device and easy to put together and to use
A perfectly excellent product right out of the box. I have the device on my 5700dn and my MFP 5800f, and just a note, the first one you setup, please be sure you put the plug onto the motherboard in the right orientation. bad printer
I am unable to use the 3100 as the printer is still not working. I have spent hours with support and have not been able to use the printer. Therefore both printer and 3100 are at this time useless to me. The money spent to purchase these items has been money spent unwisely.

Lousy device for M553 series printers
I have a M553 series printer. Installed HP Jetdirect 3100W BLE/NFC per instructions, including firmware update. After installation, get message that an unauthorized UBS device is attached to printer. Printer will NOT print until 3100W is removed. The 3100W is a $70 paperweight! DO NOT BUY!
